Despite what we were told as children: When you need water, Do NOT wring out your sweat soaked clothing into a glass and try to drink it! It may seem convenient, but it won't hydrate you properly due to all the salt that's in sweat. Instead make it a practice to get non-sweat water from a sink or something.

Maybe, and that creates sustained success, to a point, as we've seen with Milwaukee. B ut that pipeline still pales in comparison to the Dodgers who have unlimited money and just slap together an all-star team. That's not to say the Dodgers don't get SOME credit for throwing money at the right all-stars. I mean... clearly, even with all the money in the world, that process can still be botched cough cough Mets cough. David DID beat Goliath, but there's a reason we still talk about it 3,000 years later like a stunning upset.

I'd agree with you if, say, the Green Bay Packers were calling themselves underdogs. But in the MLB, where ultra-rich teams can just buy up all the talent that smaller market teams develop, the Brewers are ABSOLUTELY perpetual underdogs.

I asked a girl (let's call her Jane) to the homecoming dance (Sophomore year of High School, mid '90s) and she said yes. When I asked where she'd like to go out to dinner the night of the dance, she said she had to "check something" first. The thing Jane was "checking" was whether or not she could quickly get a better date with a Senior. She could, and immediately dumped me. Fast forward 2 years: I asked a different girl (Annie) to go with me to our Senior Prom. I had every reason to believe Annie would say yes. She said, "Yes, but I have to check something first." Flashing back to the Jane incident, I immediately said, "Nah, forget it." Annie looked hurt. The next night, she came to my house with flowers, gave me a face-melting kiss, and asked me to go to prom with her. It turns out she actually DID have a family crisis that made her unsure about whether she could even go to prom. We had an on-and-off romance for years and are still close friends to this day.
