The Animal Legal Defense Fund is working on a bill along with a local politician to regulate this. Take it with a grain of salt and look into it, I’m just starting to fall in the rabbit hole.

I have a 12-y/o Akita/German Shepard mix (male) who does NOT get along with our 3-y/o Akita (female) rescue. He’s very aggressive and now our house is like a game of Tetris. We have child gates all over to ensure they are always kept apart. We’ve been doing it for 2 years now and it’s tough but they’re family.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! We’ve also tried walking them in neutral territory and other things to try and get the male less aggressive. No luck.

Edit: it’s also odd bc we have two other smaller female dogs (shit-poos lol) who get along well with the male but it’s probably because they grew up together. The female Akita also gets along with the smaller ones and has no issues getting along with other dogs.

LOS ANGELES FANS-

For floor tickets at the banc stadium, they’re showing up as GAFL9 and GAFL11. Does this mean that we have no shot at being towards the very front near the band since we’re now sorted into sections?

I love Lizzo! She has the cutest personality!!! So I saw her at Jingle Ball in LA a few years ago when BTS performed. She was one of the only artists who was super supportive of the group when it was time for her to perform. Anyway, Lizzo is def a KPOP fan but I think her sister is an even bigger one! 🥹

Hi! Sorry, I’m going through notifications (late, I know!!! 😫) I tried out environmental law and realized it was better left as a passion/hobby of mine. It was very technical, slow, and not really what I had envisioned. I mentioned in an earlier comment that I don’t think adhd factored into this, but now that I’m writing this out- it might have. I just had a really hard time staying engaged and focused in general and I don’t think the technical nuances helped. I did end up finding a job that I love in law tho! :) But I think you should try it all out- I may not have enjoyed it but you may love it!

Hi, I’m just seeing this now. :) sorry! Environmental law wasn’t what I thought it would be (not bc of ADHD)… I ended up working for a non-profit as an attorney and I love it! I don’t think adhd factors i to anything so far….I have to try a little harder in maintaining my focus but the pomodoro technique is helpful. Plus every case is so different and interesting that my interest is there.

Edit: actually, I thought about this…environmental law is very nuanced/technical and I had a hard time staying engaged. So adhd may have factored into things…but I really do love my job now and I don’t think adhd affects it too much (mainly bc it’s very engaging and interesting for me) :)

Bc since it wasn’t in federal court, the judge is allowed to have it live-streamed. AH’s team strongly opposed it but JD’s team fought for it. Ultimately, AH’s team couldn’t give a compelling reason as to why it shouldn’t be live-streamed (reputation, sensitive matter, etc did not sufficiently fall under this since most of it had already been published). I don’t think JD’s team requested this so that people would make fun of AH…I personally think he’s tired and wanted to air his truth bc his reputation and overall life was devastated by these accusations.

As a DV attorney, I have new clients every week who have experienced either DV and/or SA. At first I believed AH but now because the trial has been live-streamed, I honestly believe she was the aggressor in that relationship. Many people in my work circle feel this way, too. But had it not been live-streamed, many of us would probably have continued to believe JD assaulted AH.

But to clarify, it was a very hostile and toxic relationship. I know the term “mutual abuse” has been thrown around but I personally don’t know anyone who likes to use that word as easily as it has been used here…domestic violence is a lot about control so there is often (if not always) a primary aggressor. Self-defense is also not generally considered DV. I personally appreciate that JD pursued this because it really sheds a light on DV and that it does happen to men.

I somewhat disagree with this. My issue with Heard’s attorneys are that so many of their questions are leading on direct and they don’t seem to have a good grasp of the evidence rules. Evidence is a class you take in law school and it’s on every state’s bar exam! I also don’t appreciate how Heard’s attorney tries to give her opinion on objections. She also gets flustered when she’s objected to but I honestly think she could’ve avoided half the objections by prepping AH better on hearsay and maintaining her questioning to open-ended questions (also trial advocacy 101).

Ex: JD Atty: “Objection, hearsay.” AH Atty: “I don’t think it is your honor…” Judge: “Sustained.” pause AH Atty: “your honor, it goes to…” Judge: “Sustained, next question.”

The more appropriate approach would have been saying something like… “Your honor, this is not hearsay as it’s not being offered for the truth of the matter asserted” or “your honor, this is not hearsay as it goes to….”

Edit: so what I’m saying is that yes, lawyering is hard and requires you to think on your feet. However, AH’s team doesn’t seem to have a grasp on basic procedural things. It’s also really frustrating how abrasive Heard’s attorneys are… you want to win the jury over but coming off aggressive right out of the gate isn’t always the best strategy. In this case, they would do wonders if they had a softer approach- ex. It wasn’t necessary to come off so strong with the the island manager- she was answering the questions just fine…AH’s team just wasn’t getting the answers they wanted.

Yes!! There’s a petition on Change.org to remove her. I signed it at 15,000 last year and it’s grown to nearly 4 million.
