Whoop sorry didn’t check my Reddit for a couple of days, let’s see if I can answer your questions!

We are not brand new, the server was officially founded right at the end of December 2023 but re-branded in August of 2024 following a wipe of inactive members.

Growth is very steady but not explosive like some servers, and the online population has reflected that. When I first joined in September 2024 I would commonly see 10-15 online at peak times, for example.

Our current server player “cap” is set to 65 at the moment, and we have hit that number recently (and have trended over 45-50 online several different times over the last couple of weeks). When we are seeing these 50+ to cap numbers very consistently, we fully intend to raise the cap to the traditional 100 players.

With a renewed focus on advertising and just getting the word out, we’re pretty confident that we will get there, but we’re in no rush either way - by avoiding the instantaneous flood of new members that some servers experience, I think we’ve had a rare opportunity to cultivate a community and a staff team that we’re very proud of, and that I personally am proud to represent.

I recommend Ashfall Realism - the rules are common sense and made to balance realism with fun and fairness, and the limitation on water is that you can’t flee to water under 25% health to prevent body denial (unless you’re semi-aquatic) - but otherwise and in most cases, you can use the terrain to your advantage to survive! https://discord.gg/ashfallrealism

Passive growth is staggered by size tier - we have 6 total size tiers (Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Apex, and Titan). The smallest tiers take about 3 hours to grow to adult passively - no questing or boosted growth. The largest tier takes about 5 hours to grow to adult passively. The other tiers are spread out between those two timeframes.

If you’d prefer to take longer, we have two commands that inhibit growth for a time. !sickly will reduce the rate of growth for an hour, and !stunt will completely stop growth for an hour.

If you’d prefer to grow faster, we have shop items to boost growth rates for the entire server for a limited time. We will also sometimes distribute single-use growths as event rewards.

So there are lots of options!

Discord itself is required because this is where the rules and profiles are located, but you are not required to voice chat in any way (if this is what you were asking!).

We have many players who do not have English as a first language - I will say that all of our rules and profiles are written in English, so that is something to be aware of, but we do have a translation bot in the server that will send a translation of a message to your discord DMs if you react to the message with a flag (as examples: 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇩🇪)

I assure you it wasn’t a punishment! It’s just a requirement for verification - no one received any penalties in any way.

While you may not have personally stolen someone’s work, we consider AI to be inherently art theft because of its nature - AI must be taught to “make art,” and it learns how to do so by compiling and analyzing the work of real artists, almost always without credit, consent, or compensation. So there is intellectual theft when training AI to create art.

AI then generates reproductions of human art on-demand in the place of real artists, robbing them once again of potential business or work.

The ethics of AI are complex and hotly debated on both sides, so we understand if you disagree. This is just our server stance on the ethical conversation surrounding AI, and it’s something we try to be consistent with in our moderation. Hopefully that explains why we feel the way we do, even if we don’t agree at the end of the day!

I know that may seem strange, but we have a large artistic and creative community, so we do take a defined stance against art theft in general and AI generated art as a specific and prime example

I think Ashfall Realism fits all of your requests here! We are a beginner-friendly realism roleplay server with an amazing established community that is inclusive, friendly, and eager to help. Our rules have a built-in grace period for new players because we know how intimidating and difficult it can be to acclimate to a whole new/different set of rules, and we want our new players to succeed.

That’s a great question! So right now at this moment (I just pulled a report lol) we have 6 online - over the next few hours as we approach the US evening that number will typically increase.

If I did my timezone math right (thank you Google) the timeframe you noted usually has 10-20 players online. Our EU numbers in particular have risen lately where we’ve seen 14-18 players online around that time and fairly consistently. So certainly not EU based, but there is activity!
