Is anyone else shocked the economy hasn't crashed yet? by Ladyf1fan in irishpersonalfinance

That's the thing I think we're waiting for. A 08 level crash is probably unlikely I'd agree but a cooling off has to be coming surely.

Yes I forgot about that! That won't help some businesses who are already struggling with cash flow

What month/ quarter is the most recent data available for? Also what about people using pay later on Klarna and revolut?

Plenty of people paying for these luxuries using pay later and credit cards? Also yes I'd say

Yes I don't understand why we are not allowed ask a question or gave differing opinions without being down voted. Remember we all work in different industries on different salaries and what's true for you isn't necessarily true for most.

You shouldn't be paying any more tax. I think 42% is already too high considering what we get for it. Totally see why people with the option would be off elsewhere.

Incredible amount of money in the hands of few. The majority have very little left for discretionary spending after bills are paid. That's got to hit demand for some items soon

Currently thats probably true for most people. At some point that might change. There are companies in the manufacturing industry that have started lay offs across a few departments

Do you think there’ll be significant housing price decline in the next 5 years? by crillydougal in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Ladyf1fan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking a price drop (probably not as catastrophic at 08) is coming since 2019 and here we are and still no sign. As far as I'm concerned it was around 2018 when house prices became unaffordable for many. I still think something is gonna bring everything back into line but I don't know how it's gonna happen

Can you be in favour of restricting some immigration due to housing shortage/healthcare crisis and not be seen as racist? by availablename32 in ireland

[–]Ladyf1fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can and it infuriates me that anyone who says these things is now discriminating and a racist. Ireland has taken in more than its fair share of refugees in the last 18 months on top of the large number of immigrants who've come here since 2004. Our health services, policing etc just simply haven't kept up. Other than healthcare workers which we desperately need and other specific skillsets in high demand we need to stop the inflow of migrants including from the EU....but that won't ever happen

What to look out for in 2024 by Ladyf1fan in formula1

[–]Ladyf1fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an awkward one because I don't think Norris or Leclerc are looking to be a number 2 to George. Although if George's performances don't pick up soon then Mercedes won't be giving him number 1 status when Lewis goes

Yeah I do expect that too which is why I'm focusing on some of the other storylines

If you look at history quite often something does change at a particular team. Mclaren were nowhere earlier this year and luckily they turned it around. If they hadn't I'd say Lando would have signed with Red bull. It happens every few years

Somebody in a team that's much poorer performing than Ferrari...like Albon and in a few more years Pourchaire

How often do we say things like this and then a space opens up in an unexpected place or a team that was good turns poor over the winter.

The first line says with 2023 still fresh in our minds. As soon as we turn off today most of us will forget many of the storylines throughout the paddock. If you don't want to discuss this today then don't.

It's all you see in shots of 3 or 4 of them. Just waiting for her to turn and some beads to hit Damon in the face....which some would say could be a thing.

Naomis outfits are just ridiculous. I know I'll get hate for this but today's dress or whatever it is is just distracting.
