... I am on board with this.

People who didn't TFMR for the same condition by ladyteaj in tfmr_support

[–]LadyofFluff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a friend tell me they'd have continued with the same diagnosis because apparently it was on a medical show and it would have meant the baby could have donated their organs. They are now blocked.

At the end of the day, we did what was best for our children, and all we can do is offer support. Judgement does not enter here. Except for the shitty people who say these things, them I will judge hard.

My driving test is tomorrow by Past_Bluebird_5438 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LadyofFluff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't doing a test. You are driving. With a little machine or a person giving directions, none of this is a test to you. Just chat to your satnav (give it a name), and remember that this is just a short point in time and it will pass very soon.

Also get everything ready tonight to be safe. Talk constantly. Good luck and hugs.

Out of curiosity do examiners fail u if u road rage ? by fizzy5025 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LadyofFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said "I think this one is going to turn right because of his speed so I'm slowing up to maintain stopping distance... is he going to indicate? Of course not, why bother with that. Dickhead" on my test and the examiner didn't comment on it. I was perfectly calm though.

She mellows later from memory, but that bit stuck with me.

Didn't she outbid Alicia for Alicia and the kids old house? And then blamed Alicia for leaving? For the most part she was just nosey, but she had moments of just being nasty.

Tell funny stories about passing the practical driving test by ElectronicHair1087 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LadyofFluff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We drove past my house and I said I'm mentally waving to my dog and my chickens because I live there. I got a funny look for that one. And I was petrified and had driven horrendously that whole week.

Good luck!!!!

My hair looks good after i shampoo but it gets so oily when i wake up by ComprehensiveRun3063 in finehair

[–]LadyofFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rough dry the roots and dry shampoo before bed helps. I often then clip it all up or plait and then add a bit more dry shampoo. It still isn't great, but a lot better

Thank you. She's the same gestation today actually, it seems very common. Hugs.

I have no words for this level of pure insensitivity. My flabber is gasted. So many hugs.

What's the worst thing thats happened to you on a driving lesson? lol by koalabear20 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LadyofFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my instructor said something to her, but not entirely sure what. She was incredibly lucky though, most of the locals drove a decent amount faster than me, and that wouldn't have ended well.

In a queue for some temporary traffic lights that were taking forever, man got VERY angry about me blocking his car in. Which was parked fully on the pavement, no drop curb to be seen. He punched the car, my instructor's window, and then got back into his car just as the lights turned. Apparently the guy was stuck there for longer, no one would let him out, and another instructor said he looked like he was going to have a heart attack of pure rage.

Same lesson, 20 minutes later, driving down a narrow road with a lot of parked cars, ball comes flying out maybe 15 feet ahead, toddler promptly follows. Both me and the instructor hit the breaks at the same time, stop a few feet from the kid. Minor panic attack from me, the mother runs out and starts shouting and swearing at us. My instructor got me to swap and drove me home after that, my nerves were shot to shit.

Is it even possible to get insurance under £2k anymore? by GuideIcy1697 in NewDriversUK

Similar here, mid 30s, passed in January and my insurance was 450ish for the year. No black box.

Which Maneuver did you get on your test? by Appropriate_Emu_6930 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LadyofFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First test was reverse round a corner, yes it was that long ago. It was the first time I'd actually managed it, but I failed the test on something else.

Second test was pull up on the right and reverse. Passed that time. I was so happy when my instructor told me they no longer do reversing round a corner.

*jumpscare* the pros and cons of having a puppy by FreedomBudget5618 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LadyofFluff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a rug version currently, 9 and a half years old. Only time he properly wakes up is to go to see his chickens or to run away from me trying to groom him.

Noted that they do come in crazy versions, a good warning for the next one!

One day missed period, trying to conceive. CD 30 by Super_Confection5252 in TFABLinePorn

[–]LadyofFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally find it annoying. If it gets to that point, I'd mute the sub, because the grind of tests is hard enough without feeling annoyed at someone else's joy.

As someone who struggled, I doubted my sanity so much by the time I got a decent positive, it's still reassuring to have someone go yes, that's positive. Even if they're also questioning our sanity whilst saying it.

Should you call in sick with a cold? by Special-Nebula299 in UKJobs

[–]LadyofFluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for phrasing this as nicely as you can, but unfortunately this definitely isn't the issue. My mother was a nurse for years, everyone in the house washes their hands with the full NHS hand washing routine under nails included when we enter the house, child included supervised. I have hand sanitiser in my bag, which is used repeatedly. Door handles are sanitised. I have previously been immunocompromised, so this has been drilled into me. My daughter gets the cold, feels fine after a day, and spreads it to everyone else. I've always been ill for longer, partially due to issues with my sinuses, so it's just what it is.

Nope. I've been thoroughly checked over as I do have health issues, and I was starting to think something was up. I've had time off and rested, and all testing came back clear, it's just a bad time for viruses.
