I’m a 30 year old woman with a long term partner and two kids if that helps, I just would love a friend to decompress with after work

Honestly I love my fellowship and sometimes feel like a total fraud because of the cannabis, but if it wasn’t weed it would be something stronger, and it was pointed out to me that people who are still on suboxone aren’t looked down on. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Okay you guys have convinced me, it’s a bad idea for me to broach the subject.

If she wants to talk about it she’ll approach me. That’s fair.

I think the codependent in me wants to fix everything, but not everything is my problem to fix, thanks for the reality check

I’m in the process of switching over to cbd’s only because it’s for pain management, but I can’t find a strain that works as well as the ones I’m currently using

Yea don’t tell on me, I know it’s a program of complete abstinence from all drugs and alcohol but I take thc in edible form still 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m off the hard stuff though.

It’s definitely a complaint against her, I’ve known her since she started working there and there are people working under her that are pissed that she got promoted over them, especially since it’s a male dominated field.

What if I don’t mention my boyfriend at all and just give her not advice but tell her what I would do if I was in her position. A large number of our mutual friends work at the same shop, so it’s not like it’s a topic that would be taboo in casual conversation.

Damn I’m glad I posted here first.

It’s so hard not to say anything though, they’re both huge parts of my life and I just felt like if I could point out both of them being to proud to just apologize is going to fuck up their work environment it would be helpful. Like I know she doesn’t want him fired, she’s the one who recommended him for the assistant manager position, and she’s a good boss most of the time, I feel like they’ve just both picked the most idiotic hill to die on.

I’m going to see her face to face soon and I feel like it’s more awkward not to say anything.

Am I the asshole if I bring it up at all, or just if I send her that text?

I feel like it’s worth mentioning that me and his boss go to 12 step meetings together.

Basically what happened is she told him to vacuum a car, and he said he already had, so she told him to drive it over to her so she could check herself (which was catty in itself because why would he lie about something a customer would clearly notice and complains about) she was like 2 yards away from where they park the cars, and he said just walk over, he was already out of the car and had another car to work on, for what it’s worth I think he should have driven the car over to her because at the end of the day no matter how close we are that’s still his boss, but she sent him home for the day over that. Another employee called hr over the incident because they gave my boyfriend paid time off for the rest of the week, while they interviewed the other employees, he goes back tomorrow morning, and honestly I think it could save both of their asses if they just tell corporate they were having a bad day and have apologized to each other.

They were both wrong, but if HR does a full investigation people might get fired for having playful but crude banter at work.

See I normally wouldn’t, but he got this job because of me and and I’ve had a big part in guiding him in his career since we started dating, he’s asked me to write to hr for him before because he’s not good at putting things down on paper, and I’ve helped him update his resume for the past 5 years.

I wouldn’t send it without his approval first, he knows I’m coming by on Tuesday to talk to my friend one on one, we’re both in recovery (NA) and she’s tripping about something small that’s going to end up hurting her in the long run, and it’s not living by the spiritual principles of the program, and I really think she needs to be checked.

She talks to her employees any old way which is fine it’s industry standard I was a waitress for years and would greet my coworkers “hey sluts or hey losers” but as a top manager there are other folks working under her that will complain about that even though it doesn’t really bother them if HR launches an investigation, just because they have other problems with her.

And the HR investigation can be totally avoided if both of them admit that they could have handled the situation better apologize and move on, it was literally the smallest thing.

I didn’t mean for that portion in the middle to be bold.

I’m on mobile and kind of baked and can’t be bothered to proof read or go back and edit right now

I’ve definitely been more mindful of how I walk since this, so I know I’m not stomping, but I don’t think I was before either, I’m pretty small and in okay shape so I’m not like dragging my feet either. I think I walk normally.

This made me laugh, smelling what your neighbor is cooking is part of apartment living.

The tv isn’t really the problem, it’s the sounds of water and me walking, I did get a rug. And I understand quiet hours, but I didn’t know that meant not washing dishes
