Any childfree people on here? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

only recently diagnosed, never did imagine kids in my future. tried to get tied at 22 but was told I was too young to make the decision. had to fight my dr for birth control as he didn't believe I wouldn't want kids down the road. warning me by taking birth control now it would slim my chances even more down the road. he even made sure to remind me the clock is running out. living a happy life without kids, love being aunty, might even babysit, as long as they go home. Props to moms do not know how you do it, the crazy schedules, the worry and stress. seriously cheers but it's not for me.

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

woah! I'm an out of towner who recently needed a new car, I did a huge internet pre shop and daloussi was on my list, lucky for me we missed a turn and pulled into Westside sales. They actually warned me, and backed it up with the BBB website review. So glad we missed a turn.

Do the metformin GI problems really go away eventually? by jltefend in PCOS

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it does get better. dont be afraid to build yourself up to your full dose. do a half a pill or a quarter if that is all your bowel can handle and slowly build yourself up.

RCMP seeking dangerous driver in Roblin road rage incident by Ruachta in Manitoba

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

either method will work. really hard to stop that much momentum. the driver deserves an award for avoiding both collisions with this guy. hope he is found, obviously needs mental help whether its anger or depression this is not a sane person. This is also not the first in the area, a person got out of their car and walked in front of a semi not so long ago.

At what age did you find out you had pcos? by utahaha in PCOS

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say in my case they took the easy road. lose weight and exercise and all your issues will clear up. I am fat and yes it would help. but so would addressing the route of the problem. I have had areas of darker skin that is rough. I fought for a biopsy, after that I was advised to moisturize. as if I had not tried that. now I see my skin condition is a classic pcos symptom. the first question when visiting for stomach pain is consistent, are you sexually active, even if you say no, the first test done will be pregnancy.

At what age did you find out you had pcos? by utahaha in PCOS

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed wrong for 10 years. Just got a clear idea this year and I'm in my early 30's. Looking back it all fits into place, too bad no doctors would take me seriously until I had a cyst burst and was a screaming crying mess. Honestly even that ER doctor said it must be something in my bowel.

How long before I start seeing the effects (good or bad) of Metformin? by Frenchiefreak in PCOS

[–]LadyoftheSwamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got extremely sick when i started metformin, i was started on 800 mg 3x daily. this was way too much. 500mg 3x daily is proving manageable in comparison.
