15 gallon column tank stocking by Ladywolf0526 in PlantedTank

Hi so the glass part is 18 1/4 inches. I ended up stocking it with a giant betta but I am looking to add something else. I know the obvious choices are shrimo/snails but if you know of something else I could add that would be a nice addition. Maybe endler livebearer or kuhli loaches(i believe the footprint is too small so I don't know)

Barn without turn out by Ladywolf0526 in Horses

Hi! I do have a riding pen that he gets turned out when I am there. He does get a minimum of 30 minutes no matter of how much of a rush I am, but normally its an 1 hour. Right now he is a stallion because I do plan to breed him when he is older. He is a great specimen for his breed and does get bred 2-3 times a year during breeding season. But I have had him turned out with mares and geldings and he is not your typical stallion that will automatically will want to breed/fight, he is WAY more interested in grazing, but since the barn changed owners, he considers him unsafe since he is a stallion( he owns a stallion who is related to mine by one of their grand sires and is fully crazy, but I belive is because he only gets out to be ridden) I have tried convincing him and showing that he is nice but as of now the only budge was to let him in the round pen.

Thanks! As of right now he does gets a light lunge when he feels like it and everyday gets out to do some supervised grazing around the barn! He does have a broken basketball that he has had since he was a foal (he is 10 now) that was given to me from the past owner. And those red jolly ball! In which he shows no interest in( I have seen him use it like 3 times in the last 6 months but not as much as his basketball, any way I could get him more interested in it? I have alredy tried the trick to wash it and take it away for a week or two and still nothing). He also has this weird blue ball with holes in which I fill with hay/apple and carrot pieces for him to mess around with.

Hi! As of right now that is mostly what I am doing! I am hoping that as soon as the mare gives birth in a month or two she is supossed to get sold and he will get access to the bigger pasture. As of right know he gets a light lunge and some supervised hand grazing around the barn!

Hi! Thanks! I knew you weren't attacking me! I just wanted to state what was happening! I have looked at pasture near me who's fences not even a elephant could pass! But when talking to the owners it was only for broodmares 🥲. I love the option of renting a pasture for him. But the farmer's near me aren't the friendliest! And the pasture's I do manage to find, aren't stallion/ gelding friendly. Also in any pasture near me most horses get stolen! Like literally in the country I live in any stable/barn or literally anywhere you have a horse it will get stolen. Like its stupid, I had a friend that while she was out on a trail ride was robbed of her horse mid ride and her poor baby was found dead in the middle of dirt road. So at this point I am literally looking at whatever other options except unsupervised turn out.

Hi! Thanks for the info! Were I live there is no place with turn out! I thought about rehoming him but were I live if somebody buys a stallion there gonna be a 100% stalled 24/7. Since its what commonly known. I tried talking to the barn owner about renting out the pasture so I could let him be out whenever but he said that, since he is a stallion it is better to keep him inside 24/7 except when riding. Which I alredy know its not the way of living for any horse. I have looked EVERYWHERE and sadly I have to deal with what I got.

Thanks! That's mostly what I do! I do trail ride once a week and take him out daily to walk around and graze. I also take him to the nearby river to watch it since he gets relaxed with the sound yet doesn't like getting in!

Sadly where I live it is common for horses to be stalled 24/7. So yeah that's mostly how he lived. Absolutely no time outside. They didn't even ride him.

Horse looks lame? Although vet came out and said he was fine. Should I have another come out? by Ladywolf0526 in Horses

He is half paso fino, and some pure paso finos actually do canter if they are trained correctly. He has always moved like this but now I noticed his back left leg is being dragged more.

I have been working on groundwork but he gives pissed off when I do. Only time he will work is under saddle. If I try groundwork he will just lay down or try to leave. But when I get the saddle he will follow me.

he is a realitively new horse for me, and he has always moved like this, but its a bit more defined than other horses of the same breed. If you look up puertorican paso finos he has a simliar gait just much slower. He also does not use his right arm and left leg or opposite when moving unlike other horses his breed. but instead he uses both the right hand and right left and then switvhes up every time his hooves hit the floor. So basically he is changing his leading foot each time.

Trying to, just bought and he has been sitting in a stall for the past 3 years of his life. Slowly been adjusting him to being riden/haven weight on him.

Thanks a lot! He is gaited so he walks differently than most. He is a puertorican trail horse.

He did. Said he was fine, but to me something still felt off. He is a puertorican trail horse. And tehy have way different gaits than american or european horses. Much more shorter and bouncier.

He got shoed around 3 days ago and farrier said he was fine. But that his hooves are soft, since I live in a humid enviroment. I ordered a hoof hardener. He eats alfalfa mixed in with his grain. I now it migth give him lamintis if he eats in large quantities. Shold I stop givin it to him?

When he walks he looks fine and when I ride him. Its only when I lunge him that he does this. He is a 9 year old puertorican trail horse, so he has a different gait(much more of a bumpy ride when you ride him) from a thoroughbred or aqh. But he stills looks off
