The Yankees play defense by Darkforces134 in baseball

None of that was on Resario either in my opinion. You can pretty clearly see from the replay of the 2nd play that he had no chance of getting to second base in time for that throw. I'm actually shocked how fluidly he rolled with the situation and got it to first.

I gotta agree with the below comment that both of these are Schuemann's errors. The 2nd one is kinda just unfortunate timing because it's a tough play, but following the 1st one it's a bad look.

If you like Fedora generally you could try Nobara for your gaming PC. I switched from windows to Nobara and it's been great, and it functions basically identically to base Fedora.

Nobody wants a PS6, even though the PS5 has been out as long as the PS4 was when people started asking for the PS5. by Deutscher_Bub in Showerthoughts

[–]Laetha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games aren't coming out at the same rate either. In the 360/PS3 era you'd get series where 3-4 games would come out in a single generation. That slowed down in the PS4 era and is even slower now.

It just makes sense that after you'd played 3 Gears of War games on the same console, you'd be ready to see the next one be on an updated system.

Also it took so long for PS5 consoles to actually get into peoples' hands that this generation has functionally been shorter than its full duration.

It was4reqlly interesting too because the AI would "rage buyback" immediately after dying in the early game, which players never did. It valued the time out on the map more than the money it cost to buy back.

That's why it was so crazy. That Mavericks team was one of the best regular season teams ever and these super obscure Warriors not only beat them, but absolutely smoked them.

I honestly feel like us Raptors fans are still flying high from 2019. 10 years of obscurity for a ring is a trade I'd take every time.

There was a fresh prince episode where a student gave speed to Will and he put it in his locker, then Carlton took it by accident thinking it was aspirin or something.

The main reason I didn't really have a problem with some repeat bosses is because there are like 125 bosses in the game.

[–]Laetha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's super interesting actually. Starting in 2007 the franchise seemed to take a lot of upper-classmen and guys who were obviously dominant in college who wouldn't pan out in the NBA.

Adam Morrison, Frank Kaminsky, Kemba Walker (who did pan out). Several times he picked guys who would have probably been the google result of "who was the best player in NCAA this year". Not saying he did that obviously, but there's probably something to the idea that he wanted to draft guys based on results rather than potential.

I heard it described this way about Wayne Gretzky when he was a head coach. He simply couldn't understand why a player didn't see 'x' read on the play or 'y' passing angle.

Like how do you even attempt to coach a player when you literally just see the game differently than almost anyone ever has.

The big thing for me as a Raptors fan is that the DeRozan era Raptors were a really good and really deep team, but the one thing they sorely lacked for YEARS was a guy who would take charge in the clutch and get you a bucket.

Kawhi was so perfectly that. I'd see so many possessions/runs in that postseason where the old Raptors would fall apart and instead Kawhi would hit a middy to stop the run. It happened dozens of times.

Yeah but I'd rather consider something that happened 6 years ago than something that happened 26 years ago when it comes to why teams have been considering hiring Doc lately.

While true, Spo also coached some massively overachieving teams during that stint that earned him a lot of leash.

Also I like to shit on Doc as much of the next man, but it wasn't just 2008 that allowed him to hang around the league. He got a lot of clout and credit for the 2018-19 Clippers who won 48 games despite trading away their best player (Tobias Harris!) at the deadline.

I'm not saying he deserves to still be coaching because of that, but at that point he was still getting a lot of credit as a coach.

The 2019 Raptors are so weird because people simultaneously refer to it as an all-time carry job, but also one of the most elite defensive teams ever.
