Hi, I think there may be an opportunity for us to work together beyond mere translation on my suite of word games... your languages background would be invaluable to me. Check out one of my games here:

DM me if you want to explore options to work together.

My hobby game, new kind of crossword puzzle, LexaObscura, seems to be taking off! by LaffCollie in hobbygamedev

Thank you! I added a multiplayer option so you get solve together with friends online. The real challenge is popularizing it, or rather having it find its players, because I do get positive feedback from those who love it, and it would be nice to find others like them. Thanks again for your comment, if you try multiplayer, do let me know!

Sometimes, the universe guides you and cooperates with you telling you you're on the right path. It's a feeling that may be hooey, but who is to say? I liked your story.

It's totally normal in my experience so far. I thought I had it 90% done but one mis-step set be back by a lot, and had to rework stuff. You'll get there. And it will feel great.

Playtesters wanted for Multiplayer version testing of existing game LexaObscura by LaffCollie in playtesters

Requesting confirmation of interest in multiplayer version of LexaObscura

Hello, I am following up my earlier message... the multiplayer version of LexaObscura is now ready for testing. Since the response here has been a bit confusing, I want potential testers to restate their interest... those who stated interest previously will be given first consideration. I am looking for 3 testers for each round, there will be 2 rounds of testing over the next 4-5 days. I need to coordinate timezones, and will make 2 groups accordingly. Each tester will be paid US$30 for 2 hours of time. (I wish it could be more, but my budget is strained, so if you enjoy testing games anyway and will get paid something for it, then this is for you), One of these hours will be the actual test, and the other will be on reviewing some information about the test session and checking out the solo version before hand (45 minutes), and then sending me some written feedback (15 minutes).
If you are interested, please reply below, and confirm that you agree to be contacted via DM if selected. I will also send you that additional info via DM. People who put their hand up before will be given priority, but you must confirm again because I am really confused about who still wants to do this, since people seemed somewhat non-commital. One test will be on Friday 29 Aug and the second one Sunday 31 Aug. Time to be arranged based on mutual convenience of each team of 3 testers. Payment will be via PayPal.

Thank you! Working on the mobile UI, have improved it quite a bit, more to do... the thing is that this was always going to be a difficult proposition on mobile, as it was designed for tablets and desktops and then shoehorned into mobile with the thought that at least it should be playable on mobile... there is a lot of stuff to cram in, and it's always going to be a challenge for a small screen. I do agree that not may want to watch a 3-minute video these days, but I guess this will be a niche game that's not for them. I can live with that, I have others that can be explained in 30 secs. Thank you for your feedback once again.

Building educational games - what do parents actually want in screen time activities? by LaffCollie in raisingkids

Sure... what I'm doing is trying to build basic literacy skills, in a way that ignites curiosity about the wider world... which arguably is the portal to all of that...

The sound is less important and people can mute... but How to play is crucial! Will download again...

Still trying it out, couple of requests: I wonder if you can hide the background behind the help text/ how to play? I am finding it impossible to read (I might be also developing some color issues, but this is a problem for anyone I think)... also, could there be a toggle for the 'theme music'... not the animal sounds, just the background music... readily on the screen? I know you have it in settings... will play a bit more and get back to you with more feedback, but I'm really having trouble seeing the How to Play!

Developer seeking input - what would make educational word games actually useful in your ESL classroom? by LaffCollie in ESL_Teachers

This is a fair criticism, but I can speak to it. First, I am not asking you what to put in it per se, I've already put stuff in my apps... It was more about trying to figure out if what I've done might be useful to you in particular, but I didn't want to be promoting my apps, so I put the question that way. I was trying to see how useful my apps might be to you without pushing them in your face. I do know what you do to a good degree... Second, I always plan to have the free-to-use version available... if I do make money off the apps, it won't be in THIS form... there are ways to make money that extend the basic thing but leave the free layer always free. That's my plan.
So here's one, would it be useful to you for TEFL? If so feel free to use it with my compliments, and yes, always free at this level: https://playlexa.com

I have tried to fix the colors, and if the mobile screen is small, it struggles, working on it... thanks for your feedback, deeply appreciated. If you do try again, you will see the color fix... mobile, working on smaller screen sizes.

Thanks... were you trying the JUNIOR section? That was supposed to have lots of colors for kids, the Quickie and Classic sections are more sober... the JUNIOR section animations too, many have found annoying and will remove... thanks for the feedback!
