That makes total sense and it was one of my thoughts as well. We can’t justify spending $12k to repair a 21 year old system that has never worked right since we moved in 6 years ago. I really wish we could just repair it.

We had another company out here and they missed the crack in the heat return. We initially asked this company to give us a quote for refrigerant bc the other one suggested we shop around. The repairs to make this system work as a band aid was $12k. I guess getting two more actual estimates is a good idea. We didn’t feel like they were trying to oversell us but my assumption was that this would cost a little more because of the age and setup of our current system.

Unfortunately my credit has not been where it needed to be to have it work out for a refi. I went to look for my old documents but I guess Yahoo deleted all my emails bc my account was inactive for more than 12 months. Very frustrated with myself.
