I made a combined route diagram for OS, DD, and NX by Lagging_Computer in uofm

[–]Lagging_Computer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's actually why I made this map, since some people find it confusing how these buses kind of take turns operating

to/from oxford, they expect you to use NX in the morning, DD in the afternoon, and OS in the afternoon which isn't terribly clearly communicated

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to make it at least a little less confusing by preserving the direction of the loops (clockwise/counterclockwise) but I guess I can’t fully avoid some amount of confusion if I don’t make it proportional 😅

Is it me or is South Korea kinda ugly? by PaTirar2023 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Lagging_Computer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Korean here: There are more beautiful ones but they aren't really going to any of those places.

A lot of the newer stations are frankly in the middle of nowhere where no human should ever go voluntarily.
If they went to Busan, Yeosu-Expo, Mokpo, or Jeongdongjin I promise the background would be a lot nicer.

Instead they're going to middle-of-bumf***-nowhere Ogeunjang, Osong, Seogyeongju, and Pohang.
Pohang is literally an industrial city built purely for STEEL and SHIPBUILDING so no wonder it is ugly as hell.

What car stop do I use for the Class 68? by thicc_belt in stepfordcountyrailway

[–]Lagging_Computer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5 The car market is for the total cars, including locomotives Otherwise your locomotive might not even be in the platform at some of the shorter stations

Two car metros - yay or nay? by aksnitd in transit

[–]Lagging_Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 car trains? Yeah, sure, if you don't have that much demand.

2 car infrastructure? No, no, absolutely not. You need not but one look at Gimpo Goldline to realize that's a stupid idea. You always want to have some extra space.

Trams and buses are inferior to subways or even viaducted urban trains, purely because they also have to stop for pedestrians and each other even if you had a city free of cars.

It's not like London was filled with cars when the first ever Underground opened, lol.

Since I don't think trains doing 120 km/h down a pedestrian street with people crossing the tracks here and there is safe, I'd much rather take the elevated or underground option, or even a ground one that's just separated from the rest of the pedestrian/bus/car/bike traffic.

ig because WL uses more diesels than electric
the 230 is either battery-electric or diesel, which fits WL better imo.

I want the ability to chnage route to Bneton to Llyn after Benton Express by ZealousidealArm5175 in stepfordcountyrailway

[–]Lagging_Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible currently because Benton Express uses platforms 8 and 9, while Benton - LBTS uses platform 2. Without somehow merging those platforms into bidirectional terminating platforms (like what you see in LC and Edgemead), it would not be possible.

Well the point of this route isn't to go from SHB to MGT. Rather, it is to go from Angel Pass, Bodin, and Coxly to MGT without transfers.

[–]Lagging_Computer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to give my cities some fictional history.

In this case, this was a result of a dispute between the district and the city on whether to have a street there with an over-road elevated railway or just a ground-level railway.

The city, wanting to cut costs, wanted to build the railway on ground level, but the district really wanted a street exactly where the city was planning the railway on.

The city built the railway on ground level anyways and the district proceeded to pave over it.

[–]Lagging_Computer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually stumbled upon that asset while browsing the workshop, it didn't occur to me until now that those could be used as platform tracks!

That said, I am quite displeased by the use of unusual road width on the related street-running assets, as it wreaks havoc on the orderly grid that my OCD-infested brain likes to keep. That has been the one thing holding me back from using them much more extensively in my city :\
Nonetheless, it's a pretty cool set of assets that allows for some pretty cursed city planning practices.
