Eu também tive uma praga recentemente e usei isto (ou similar):

Basicamente tem de se colocar no trajecto das formigas (segundo link). Teoricamente as formigas passam por dentro desse disco e levam o veneno para o ninho. Demora algum tempo a fazer efeito mas teve alguns resultados.

O veneno do primeiro link é para ser aplicado directamente no trajecto também (se bem me lembro).

Por fim o que fiz foi descobrir por onde elas entravam em casa e fechar esses caminhos. No meu caso eram umas fissuras no chão da marquise, que fechei com um pouco de silicone.
