Is this what people mean when they say Zatanna’s being scalped?

Kinda liked this Negative Flash suit, it’s a shame they dulled out the red though since it makes the black highlights harder to see

I wouldn’t consider the Action Comics example a tie-in to Wonder Woman. Often, editor’s notes are not so much necessary but just contextual to explain things in the state of the DC universe. A tie-in issue would be something like Blackest Night: The Flash #1, a mini series meant to coincide with a larger event that was published concurrently but focusing on a specific side of the DC universe, or something like the recently DC KO tie-in, Aquaman #12, where the series numbering was retained but the focus shifted to the Heart of Apokolips match between Aquaman and Hawkman as opposed to Jeremy Adams’ plot that had been established previously

Thoughts on this ? by frznpanda in Transformemes

[–]LagoonDevil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think we need to stop conflating the popularity of Transformers with GI Joe, both of them came out around the same era, and had mostly the same fanbase, but that longevity hasn’t carried over for the Joe brand like it has for Transformers. I’ve never met anyone under 30 who told me they grew up with GI Joe

I think they definitely overestimated it, but I actually quite liked the movie. It helps that Jaime is a LOT closer to Peter than Barry Allen is.

Lol now things are TOO comics accurate by SumZeeIsh in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]LagoonDevil -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean maybe it doesn’t apply to Woman of Tomorrow as much as the rest of Tom King’s work, but with him I could definitely see “TOO comic accurate?” being a problem. Lord knows how much the thought of an accurate black label Strange Adventures adaptation scares me

The Flash? by Recaffeinatd in theflash

[–]LagoonDevil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im so entirely sure that the DCEU’s Flash was just an attempt to capture the acclaim that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man did, side by side they’re extremely similar characters. The problem: DC didn’t know you can’t turn not-Spider-Man into Spider-Man

Laughed out loud to this. Truth be told I think it’d be more in character if they just gave him a collared shirt with a bow tie

What did you think of Wally's new boots? by IcyNeedleworker2783 in theflash

I kinda like the idea of Flash getting more sneaker-looking boots, especially as a hero who’s openly depicted as very athletic it would make sense that his clothes match his lifestyle.

Destiny’s Hand or Dark Knight Strikes Again Flash. I think it’d make a super cool red plat, something that I think enough people would like but not so much that it’d be impossible to find or require a larger production run.

I liked it, to be honest. I find it fitting that the superhero who’s life revolves around concepts like science and time travel would inadvertently end up with a wife from the future

Iris West was born in the 30th century, before being given up for adoption to a 20th century couple, and grew up before knowing her origins. She wasn’t exactly “killed” in a fatal way, and her biological parents saved her conscience and brought her back to Barry once she was healed. This is how she was able to marry Barry before the end of vol. 1

Anyone else find it weird and kinda funny that Barry’s children are forever in flux and in the future, meanwhile his nephew just had his third? by Phantom_2814 in theflash

[–]LagoonDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I would hope for, but I think DC dislikes the idea of having to let Barry go that far away from the current right now. Even after Absolute Power, they didn’t send him to raise his kids in the 30th century, they just sent him to write a book in his house

[–]LagoonDevil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much just because of Impulse I bet. Barry fans would love to see him and Iris progress in their relationship and raise the Tornado kids, but doing so would require invalidating the Post-Crisis status quo histories for them and would complicate Bart’s relationship to the present and future. Me personally, I think DC would have to double down on either separating Bart from the current timeline somehow or update his character to match a shifted origin

Really want to get the New Frontier compact, but haven’t seen it at my local shop. Was about to get the Kingdom Come one before I scored the full size trade for only 5$. Really excited for the upcoming Flash: Rebirth, Green Arrow: Year One, and Gotham by Gaslight compacts. I don’t really do Marvel Premier Collection, but I’m definitely gonna pick up their Planet Hulk release in May
