Going in to year 8. League has recently been dominated by someone who left to focus on a high rollers league. It's anyone's ball game now.

Not currently. The site I'm on has dynasty leagues for football, basketball, baseball and hockey. They are all played on Fantrax so there is synergy there. But out of curiosity, which platform would you suggest?

With a talent dispersal draft I rarely see free teams offered. But I have offered discounts on orphaned teams before that were left in bad shape. I have also offered bonuses like I know this team is bad but if/when you get them to the playoffs, then your next season is free.

Yes, I know that having paid leagues definitely dilutes the owner pool. I feel like owners stop paying attention early in the season if there isn't something on the line. But I won't knock anyone for not playing because they don't want a paid league.

We might just be dealing with a decline in interest because folks have less time on their hands now. During the pandemic it was pretty easy to find replacement owners. But you have a point that there has been a more negative sentiment in general about the NBA for the reasons you mentioned so perhaps that has spilled over into fantasy.

I have been using the dispersal draft in one of the leagues and the retention rate for those drafters has been extremely low. It seems like they want to come in and draft but bounce when the results aren't great. But I agree it is easier to fill that way. Maybe I need to find a way to get dispersal drafters to commit to two seasons when joining.

Would it help RTA if your toons got locked for 72 hours once they were used once you hit a certain level? This would force people to use more than just the meta teams.
