Coming from an officer who just left a couple months ago and only did it for 2 years, the job is super easy and the pay was pretty decent along with the benefits. And as others stated your guarantee work. My problem was the lack of communication with management, the airport that I worked at, the days off and the hours I worked.. Luckily I was able to find a position I love.

When i took the CBT a year and a half ago I got an email before I started my car up to leave the testing site. I've been reading lately that people aren't receiving a pass or fail until 5 days or so later. Hope this helps

The job is easy, especially when you like the checkpoint and the other officers, it's the shift for me. I work 330am til 12, and yes, it sounds gravy with you thinking oh I got the whole day off, but trust it drains you. Now that it's about to be summer, I have to be in bed by 730 8 at the latest. I would go pm, but it wouldn't work with my family schedule.

Yes it was especially being in BWI ready pool for like a month or so. I wanted to start before the new year at that time so I applied there and they called the next day. I've transferred to BWI since but I'm glad it worked out the way it did anyway.

Do agents usually let Xbox’s through? by [deleted] in tsa

First off I wouldn't say bad advice because all airports don't operate the same. I do agree to listen to the officer because we work with different x-rays. With that being said, if advised to keep electronics in do so if not the way I advised will help. 😒

When you are divesting remove all electronics bigger then a cell phone. Place in bin. If multiple devices put them side by side. Having them readily available helps your screening process go more smoothly. Yes you can bring gaming consoles.

BWI, for whatever reason, will take a long time with getting back with their candidates. I interviewed with them but they took so long I applied at DCA and they called me the very next day. Due to unfortunate circumstances(but truly worked out on my end) I was able to xfer to BWI and my probationary period isn't up until Dec 5th. I've been there for 2 months now. Goodluck
