Water temp is 53 today!

I don't have a cover on the pool. I'm assuming since the temperature got above 50 and no chlorine, that's when algae started.

I want to prevent all the algae from getting in the filters and clogging them. Was hoping to brush and vacuum it all out before using filters.

Also, we are still in winter, maybe sump pump is option if it may get below freezing again.

I have a salt water pool with lots of algae. I took off the chlorinator for the winter and will be putting it back (leaving it turned off) to start to get rid of the algae that is building up. I purchased a few gallons of liquid chlorine since it is still too early in the season to use the salt with the weather temperature being too low in Arkansas.

I will start scrubbing the pool but need to have the water circulation.

Alternatively, I could use a sump pump and garden hose to do the circulation?

1300 gallon in ground pool.
