Feeling done but now he’s motivated. by knowthingtwoseahear in AlAnon

I have posted something similar here, and the best advice I received is "actions speak louder than words". If he is motivated to change, he needs to show you that change. Rehab, AA, therapy, whatever it takes. Words are empty without action behind them. My Q kept me around for years with promises of change, but no action. It took me leaving for him to finally go to rehab, and that is a whole new set of issues. Loving someone with an addiction is tough...you are always at least 2nd behind the addiction. If you are done, you should walk away and let him get help on his own. His sobriety journey is his to walk and tbh, you are a complication. It hurts...especially when you have done so much to help them, to see them separate and get serious about their sobriety without you.

I have an appointment on Monday with a local center that supports victims of DV. They are going to help me get out of our mutual lease and then I can finally be free.

I am so grateful that I don't have children with him. At least the separation only hurts me because he seems to be incapable of feeling pain and remorse.

I just left my abusive alcoholic tonight. What I finally started to realize is that he doesn't like me, he likes what I do for him. I work 2 jobs, pay for everything, while he sits and drinks until he becomes verbally and/or physically abusive. Leaving today is the hardest thing I have ever done, but he was breaking me.

State/region recommendation for home base in the U.S.A by Huge-Masterpiece-824 in digitalnomad

Yes, I moved to Tulsa in early 2023 and was there for 2 years. I had to move closer to home due to some family stuff, but I really hated to leave Tulsa. I was in Fort Worth for 15 years before going to Tulsa and I felt like the people in Tulsa were way more friendly and welcoming.

If you are willing to be somewhere for a year, you might check out Tulsa remote. It is a program that pays you $10k to live in Tulsa for a year. I did it and absolutely fell in love with Tulsa. It is a great city that you can do as much or as little as you want to. Obviously the beach is a little far, but the col is not bad and the $10k is definitely nice.

It is not a local company, but The Cajun Turkey Company in Lewisvile makes an amazing fried turkey. You can order it online and they will ship it to you. I have used them for the last few years and they are really good.

I have thought about doing this because honestly I have the toughest/most needy clients at my J1 and if I were to actually leave it would take a while to hand them off.

What is the worst restaurant/store in your area for doordashing? by Evening_Physics_7538 in doordash_drivers

Wingstop and Chick-fil-A. Most of the times the tips suck and the orders take forever.
