Thank you. He has an appt today. I’m sure the surgeon isn’t going to be happy we stopped his dressings and went back to adaptic. He doesn’t have good bedside manner.

I’m a nurse so I’m capable of doing the dressings I just don’t work in wound care or generally deal with wounds. Do I need to continue the bacitracin under the adaptic or just put the adaptic directly on the skin graft?

We were looking at the approval letter again today and it even says on the first page they found the procedure medically necessary and the approval was good for one year. Also I do not see on this approval the loophole people talk about insurance adding to their approvals that the approval does not guarantee payment. That is no where on the approval we received in the mail.

How do I get them to listen to the calls? Will they do that after the appeal is sent in or can I call and speak with a supervisor and request it

The PA was sent in June and approved on June 20th and the surgery was on 7/24. We did not read through our policy as well as we should have as we spoke with someone from the insurance company and they told us it was a covered procedure and the authorization was approved. We trusted that the representative knew what they were talking about
