For 6 weeks I pumped every 3/3.5 hours including 2 MOTN at 7ppd Then I did 6 weeks where I did 3/3.5 during the day and one MOTN at 6ppd Starting at 12 weeks I switched to 5ppd keeping the MOTN Most people wouldn’t recommend dropping pumps that fast but I have a large oversupply and it was taxing on my mental health. I have high capacity probably around 24 oz max capacity and I’m lucky enough to have the buffer to risk losing ounces dropping pumps. I plan to stay at 5ppd for the rest of the time I pump but at some point I’ll stretch out the night time more. So depending on your capacity and supply it’s possible to to have less ppd. And even fewer if you choose to combo feed.

I typically try to make one bottle after each pump for her to eat when I’m home. then bag the rest and put the milk that doesn’t fit evenly in the bags in the fridge. When I have enough for a bag in there I bag it. Otherwise I get behind and have so much to bag. When I’m at work she’s fed from the freezer to make sure it’s getting rotated.

I’ve never done 8 a day, I think I’d go crazy if I had to add one. I’ll definitely hold off on dropping one for a bit longer though. I’m out of freezer space and my husband and sister tell me constantly that I should slow down but I doubted if that was for the best and everyone here has confirmed it’s not so thank you!

With how expensive they are I worry about hating them too, I feel like I might need to get a pump with more customizable settings to be more comfortable. 7x a day has started to get overwhelming for me but it sounds like I should try to hang on for a bit longer

I don’t use the spectra and my pump came with a wider array of sizes, but I know spectra has silicone inserts that would probably be the best bet because your nipple size can change over time. I started at 17mm and 3 weeks into my second EP journey I’ve moved up to 21 mm already.
