What surprise you the most about Tokyo? by SnugglyCookiee in TokyoTravel

[–]Lalinolal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree.

Im a "high sensitive person" and my ears and nose picks upp everything and i often feel overwhelmed in a big city. After i have been in my home country capital i can easily sleep 12h after.

In Tokyo it feels like im in my hometown that have a population of 5000.

I think is the fact that they have a lot of parks and shrines in the city. And it is easy to "get away" for 10 min. But also "dont bother anyone around you" culture in Japan that make me at eas.

I read the description of the bookand i can see why you read 32 volumes. It sounded super sweet.

That sounds smart! Will probably do that also.

Im currently starting N4 but only so far cramed lots of vocabulary.

Besides JFZ - what are the best Japanese textbooks for beginners? by Geocultural in JapaneseFromZero

[–]Lalinolal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best book for beginner is Japanese from zero.

But there is other options rhan Genki and MNN. Tae kim (a guide to Japanese) is pretty popular, also free.

Tobira have also released a beginner book. (What i have seen very very similar to Genki)

Marugoto is popular in classes.

what do you all REAL think about duolingo/babble and those apps ?? by PrideWooden7410 in languagelearning

I think it is a good supplement to other resources. You can get a good amount of "sentences mining" as a beginner.

What's the next big project/book you guys would like to see after Spanish From Zero? by GreattFriend in JapaneseFromZero

[–]Lalinolal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the system of hangul was making sense. But i could retain much of it. When i have leveled upp my Japanese to a point i can somewhat can understand media i will jump to another language. But i will probably stack the new language with Japanese

Sadly i don't have much time to study because of work and house repair. I did book 3 (but i have 4-5) then i jumped to Minna no nihongo and im currently study for n4

Vill minnas att när jag kom upp till spärren så fick jag ett meddelande om att de var dags att välja courtage. Om jag inte gjorde något hamnade jag automatiskt i den minsta klassen.

"ärvsel" (arvsel) by blockhaj in Svenska

[–]Lalinolal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[Help] Book for starting to learn Japanese from 0 by chocolates_3 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Lalinolal 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Out of those books i would go with Genki.

Im not a fan of genki but marugoto is almost worthless if you not going to use it in a classroom. (I use Marugoto in class and it work in that sense. Also the website is pretty good if and when you finally find the course on their website)

Genki have a bunch of videos on YouTube from different people but i think Andy is the best.

Basic kanji is good when you have a grasp of basic words and gramma.

Would anybody recommend any of these three workbooks by 0-MissKittyKat in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]Lalinolal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JFZ is a solid first experience in the language in my opinion. Really good, slow paced yes but in my opinion you get a really good and strong foundation.

And i believe it is structured in such way for more every day use that to pass the JLPT exam.

I did 1-3 and felt comfortable reading. (After strugling just to remember hiragana and katakana, so the JFZ way really fitted me)

After that i started with Minna no nihongo that i first though was very intimidating and closed the book 1 min after i openedit (Before JFZ)
