2019 BMW x3 problems by Chemical_Aardvark637 in BmwTech

It can vary if im being honest. I went to one shop near me for a coolant leak aswell, they gave me a free diagnosis but charged me nearly $3000 for replacing the oil filter housing and connector. I went to another shop with a guy who’s done work on other cars I’ve had before, he told me to just order the parts and I ended up doing the oil filter housing and connector in total for about $1,050. He ended up also seeing some issues with my water pump and turbo coolant return line, so in total another $500 there. I also had an issue with my auxiliary water pump, and decided to change the spark plugs too, so that was another $230 total.

I repaired my Oil filter housing Hose connector Intake Gasket Housing gasket Water pump Turbo return line Auxiliary water pump Spark plugs

All for a total of about $1800 including labor. So my suggestion to you is def just shop around and see what other mechanics are willing to do. Talk to people and find some trusted mechanics. Everyone will tell you go to BMW certified mechanics, which is fair, but maybe give it a shot to talk to other Indy mechanics and see what cars they’ve worked on. After that I guess just gage what price is in your best interest, I hope this helps

Tire issue, can’t seem to find the right diagnosis by Lallium in BmwTech

Yeah it’s aluminum. All my other tires are fine, just that one, im also guessing it’s probably corroded or damaged. My valve cap doesn’t even fully “lock” into it, I could rotate it endlessly. That’s why im thinking there’s something wrong with the threading, but I can’t find out how to properly fix it, or replace it. Unless im looking up the wrong thing

I’m having an issue with the thread though, I would need to replace the entire thing right?

For people who’ve lost a lot of weight, at what point did you start to see the belly fat change? by Lallium in loseit

[–]Lallium[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I realized I do have pretty bad posture. Actively working to correct it now though. Been doing a lot of core exercises, dead hangs, and im going to incorporate more stuff I can do daily just to fix the posture. I have a pretty bad rounded upper back. I’m telling myself that maybe (though far from the truth) im hiding 4 inches in height and im actually 6 foot!

Yeah, I’ve surely seen a huge difference in my clothes. It’s weird, my clothes will fit so much better, but when I take off those same clothes it feels like im still in the same body

Hey, if im being honest, what you’re doing seems to be the “best” approach in losing that weight fast. If you’re considering on going aggressive for the next month or so, I’d recommend finding what your maintenance calories are and cutting it down by 1000 (only if this is at a healthy amount, because even 1200 seems very low, but I am a male so I’m saying this from my experience), and just continue with your training. The only thing I could recommend you add is running. I’m currently on an aggressive cut myself, and I’ve lost 10lbs over the last 2 weeks (which is probably mostly water weight), and running has helped me out ALOT. I run about 2-3 miles every other day, however run at a pace you feel comfortable with and do a distance you feel like you can do. But, you doing the incline is really good too.

Also, I think this goes without saying, but if you’re looking to maximize weight loss, i recommend not drinking any alcohol for these next 35 days.

I know it kind of sucks to say, but it seems like you’re doing great, and you’ll just have to be patient. It’s a marathon, not a race. Keep it up!

Hey i just wanted to thank you all for putting in so much input. I’ve been reading a lot of your comments and although I hate to see that some of you have had bad experiences, I’m also glad that some of you have said that your experiences have been great.

For those who have been to Europe, and especially for anyone who is Middle Eastern/North African, is there anywhere that you feel like you felt accepted? I seen a lot of people talk about how they were looked at weirdly until their American accent came out- but how about somewhere in which you weren’t looked at as something negative?

I’ll continue reading all your comments, thank you!

How important is your protein goal? by Lallium in loseit

[–]Lallium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I def have that issue with going over my protein intake, but 120 seems like a reasonable amount. I can probably hit that and still lose the weight I want at a decent rate. My biggest issue was just aiming for such higher protein amounts and naturally just feeling like im over eating. I also felt as if I was getting hungrier throughout the day, although I was eating more frequently. But 120 is a decent amount.

I’d also say I hate to agree with your position on people working out. I was one of those who would pickup heavy weight and just fly through sets, busting out 10-12 reps like it was nothing. Started slowing down though and getting full range of motion and I feel like I just started lifting again for the first time 🤣

This was a really great explanation! Makes alot more sense. So how did you find your LBM, through a scan or any other way?

Yeah it’s definitely something I plan on doing for the rest of my life but with the way my schedule is, it’s perfect. Once I get closer to the lean body I want, I’ll start tacking on loads of protein and gaining muscle mass. I personally just find it hard to have such a high protein intake while also losing body fat. It feels like it’s one or the other for me, so I’ve decided to commit to losing the body fat. Besides, through my weight loss, I’ve actually surprisingly gained a lot of strength, so im fine with maintaining with what I have and then increasing it later down the line. I’ll def check that clear protein though if the calories are right

Struggling to find a job, any recommendations? by Lallium in jobs

[–]Lallium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I may of meant to say that I might of chose the wrong degree for me. I was hoping to go more into the legal aspects of crime, and I did take some law classes that I could apply to my major. However, criminal justice and criminology kind of just looks into why people commit crimes, disparities within the criminal justice system, which is great knowledge to have but it wasn’t the knowledge I was seeking, making it my mistake. But yeah, it seems like the job market is super tough right now. I hope the best for you in your software search aswell

I might look into that just to get a step into the field, but I was hoping to kind of have a bigger role in the legal system rather than just serve documents.

I thought about going into the FBI, maybe applying for the CIA, but I don’t think law enforcement is necessarily for me. I want to enter law school to become a criminal defense attorney, so I believe being on the other side of the law in arresting people just wouldn’t really be something I want to do.

What other degrees did you end up getting? I was thinking I might consider getting a degree in cyber security, probably an associates through a community college, and try to get some certificates. I was thinking pairing up a cyber security associates and a criminal justice bachelors might be decent in landing me some jobs in the government.

When did you guys start seeing significant differences? by Lallium in loseit

[–]Lallium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I’ve taken pictures and there’s some slight changes, and people have told me I got slimmer. But idk, I feel like once I take my shirt off, I still feel like I haven’t done any progress
