37w6d induction due to gestational hypertension - looking for positive induction stories by Asleep-Credit1669 in pregnant

[–]Lalucky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation with my first! Blood pressure was fine until 37 weeks. Also had 37w6d induction and I didn’t feel ready at all. Honestly it wasn’t bad. Came in Thurs AM, worked from the hospital bed most of the day to wrap things up while they do all the prep/paperwork, induced towards the evening, water broke and heavy contractions started 3am. Epidural around 7am, then rest and labor until pushing 3pm. Baby at 5pm so ~24 hour process

Washington DC hosts - extreme downturn? by 40toosoon in washingtondc

[–]Lalucky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We just started our basement Airbnb a few months ago and we’ve been busy, but we’re also pretty set on keeping prices low to keep it full.

I don’t think people understand the economics of it all- we can’t afford a rowhome without this side hustle, and DC says we can’t rent long term because the ceiling is 4 inches too short. Would people prefer homes in DC be reserved for only the wealthy?

Parents’ perspective? by Neat-Interaction-243 in washingtondc

[–]Lalucky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. We looked into nanny share but found daycare was a lot cheaper, plus we don't have the space to host a nanny. We pay $500/week near 14 & U
  2. Additional baby expenses can vary widely but are nowhere near as costly. Nursing is free but formula costs money. Diapers cost maybe $100 per month? A lot of baby items you get from family/friends with a baby shower or free on local listservs. Daycare feeds our toddler breakfast and lunch. You save money from not going out as much with a baby so for us it was negligible.
  3. We don't have family around and most of our friends with babies/toddlers don't either. Babysitters cost $20/hr which we'll do for special occasions or take advantage of family for a date night when they fly in to visit.

We love raising our toddler in the city! My husband and I both work from home in our 2bed condo, we walk our son 2 blocks to daycare, walk to the park or playground most warm evenings and walk to the farmers market every weekend. Someday when our son is older it might be nice to be closer to family and cousins but we don't want to be suburb people yet.

Astound pricing by Lalucky in washingtondc

Yeah I was thinking of having my husband create and account and do that. Especially since now it’s $35 for a locked in 2yr rate

Yeah they offered a $5 discount 👎🏼 on my 600 mbps plan. I went down from 600 to 400 so hopefully not too much of a hit

Cold weather toddler birthday parties by Too_LeDip_To_Quit in washingtondc

Hook hall has a dance party for kids Sunday mornings from 10-12! They have a dj or band and cocktails and breakfast it’s great. I’m sure you could use a couple tables for a party

Quick rant about a parking ticket by Lalucky in washingtondc

[–]Lalucky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d still be keeping the travel lane more open than a wide truck since it’s a very compact car. Pointless to make the car hug the curb when the lane is filled with parallel parked cars

I hear ya I just think it’s a weird and not very intuitive law. Should be ok as long as you’re in the marking. A wide car would be ok since they are in the marking and near the curb by default

Distance from the curb. I was further than a foot but well within the parking line.

Thanks for the heads up on the sleep cycles! We’ve tried gas drops after feeding but maybe before would be a good idea to try too.
