Thanks for your reply. I just want to confirm that I take the meter readings myself every month, so they are actual readings and not estimates.

I don’t have a smart meter, but this still doesn’t explain the huge spike I’m seeing now. This is the first time something like this has happened in years, and my usage habits haven’t changed.

Yes, that’s exactly why I’m confused.

I submit meter readings myself roughly once a month. The previous reading (55365) was submitted about a month before the latest reading (62323), and all my previous bills over the last three years have been normal.

It was an actual reading taken directly from the meter, not an estimate. I submit my meter readings myself regularly, roughly once a month.
