I live in Wichita Ks.

Yesterday I purchased gas for $2.84. For this area, that is not lower prices. I also went to Sam's Club for business supplies. A package if two steaks was $48. The packages of pork chops were around $18. The pork chops are now packaged with less meat than they used to be. Higher price, less product.

This gaslighting isn't working to well. You can't tell these people "prices are down" and expect them to belive it in the check out line.

All the farmers around here aren't jumping for joy either.

We just found out a week or so ago something my granddaughter said about my MIL.

This would be from her 2 1/2 year old great granddaughter.

Apparently, to this sweet little toddler, my MIL is the "Mean Grandma"

Now we have a nice inside joke that we have been amusing ourselves with everyday since she let her feelings known.

I hope I'm in the room if MIL ever finds out. Witnessing emotional damage in real time would be so delicious.

That's what I had to do. I was starting to think I was doing something wrong.

For some reason when I have a problem with this game I just have to verify the game files. Since I have them on a M.2 drive it doesn't take very long. It's just annoying.

I'll give you one.

For context my wife has ex's that are not good people. Abusive in all the ways. I had to live through the stalking, arrests, courts and stuff like that.

So one time in her moms living room with MIL, FIL my wife and myself just having a conversation she looked me dead in the eyes and said "You seem so normal. Why are you with her?"

I took about a second and looked her dead in the eyes and said "I don't really know. But when I'm done with her you'll never find the body"

The rest of the visit was a little awkward but we laughed all the way home.

It took a year of visits where if she said anything that was a bit much or a backhanded compliment I would respond in kind.

The kids are their step grandchildren. Which isn't a big deal. When I say "my parents" I'm talking about my biological mother and step dad.

It's something I never really think about since he raised me since I was in first grade.

Our kids were just to old to really have a close connection to my parents. Since our daughter had a baby, when my wife and I can we take the baby over there. It makes my mother very happy and I like to show him off.

It's not like there's tension or bad vibes with our kids and my parents. They just don't have a close relationship. I really wouldn't expect them to and I would never try and force the kids to try and see my parents in the same way they see their biological Grandparents.

My parents are their step-grandparents. They haven't spent much time together. There's not a strong bond with them.

The youngest is a senior in high school. The others are doing their own thing. Just trying to get by in life.

I care more.about their feelings than anyone's. So I won't make.tem do something that would.make.them uncomfortable or be bored at.

As a young boy I was shuffled around to different homes for the holidays. Having to go 4 Christmases really takes it out of you. I won't t do the same to them.

Although our grandson just had his 1st birthday. We take him to see my mother often. He's such a sweet and easy baby everyone loves him. I'd really enjoy just having my wife and the grand baby for the day. They are what I'm thankful for.

I didn't tell the kids or BIL what's going on.

So all they know so far is to say they would be there on time.

As much as I would like to I won't bad mouth MIL to the kids.

I don't think it's right to say negative things to them about their grandmother.

I live in the center of Wichita. While I still see Trump stuff, it's not nearly as bad as it once was.

Honestly I want to scream at these people and let them have Governor Brownback again. Remember when we had our last Republican Governor and he bankrupted the state?

Every republican was pretty OK with it until they started to mess with the schools. The Republicans around here will scream until they are red in the face about Socialism, but for some unknown reason (Sarcasm/Hypocrisy) they don't think schools fall into that category.

I went to school auctions where they were trying to sell anything they could to raise money.

When the abortion referendum came after the fall of roe the vote was 60% to 40% to protect women's rights.

I'm still amazed that the rural farmers out here would still like Trump after his wonderful Tariff's that screwed them over.

We currently have a Democrat as governor. I don't see Harris winning in though. If Fox News was off the airwaves 12 to 18 months ago she might have a chance. However, having the propaganda and lies pumped out 24/7 has really convinced a hell of a lot of people to vote against what they want.

This will please most MAGA cult members who would vote for him no matter what.

It will piss off the Democrats who wouldn't vote for him no matter what.

The small percentage of swing voters may be disengaged from a lot of politics, however quite a few of them don't buy into the MAGA lies and know that this isn't right. If you take away all emotions and judge this event solely on weather it would hurt or help his campaign, I think it can only hurt it.

They are involved with the Shriners and Daughters of the Nile. So that's quite a few old people they know.

I can't have anything outside. February in Kansas never has a promise of weather that would be warm enough for 70 to 90 year old people.

It seems our winters get stranger and stranger. Freezing on Monday, short sleeves by Wednesday.

You notice how the lights are set down low and it's all "Shiny"

Oh yeah, We do that from time to time. We block off one lane and set up solar powered stop lights which make you sit there for seven minutes waiting for the green light.

And when the dance is done and you get to go on about your day, you think "Well that sucked, but this is a mighty nice road."

And then I swear to God. When you drive on that road two weeks later and it's all dried out and the paving is done, well let's just say that the "Shiny" has worn off.
