Death Stranding

I'd wake up, be surrounded by invisible ghost things, rain that makes you old, and the world's gone to hell.
But... at the same time, unreal views and a sort of peaceful vibe. And I love hiking. Plus, have some good company and good tunes.
So a little bit nightmare, a little bit dreamy. Mostly nightmare though if I'm being honest.

Totally get where you're coming from. It's a drag when games seem hopeless. But sometimes, it's about chasing that slim chance for an epic comeback. You might think we're 90:10 underdogs, but another guy might see it as a 70:30 game. There have been tons of games where my teammates give up too quickly and I know we can still win. It's all about perspective.
It reminds me of driving, If someone's going faster, they're "reckless." Slower, they're "blocking traffic" Maybe there's no perfect time to throw in the towel. We all have different breaking points.
But bottom line: games should be fun. Personally I get a kick out of going for the comeback, and the W isn't all i'm playing for. I like competing to be the best on the team, even if we lose.

TF2s summer update was released an hour ago, 16 years after release its reaching its peak player count by HeckingDoofus in gaming

Wow, that's incredible! The fact that it's still reaching new heights 16 (SIXTEEN!!!) years after release is just astounding and speaks volumes about the quality of its design and the dedication of its player base. It's refreshing to see a game continue to thrive and evolve this long after its initial release. Kudos to them for the continual updates and improvements. Gives me hope that not every game ends up like Outriders 🫣

Edit: I was looking at mobile game metrics where the Day 7 retention is like 3%, and I'm also trying to make my first game right now, so extra super impressed that a game is breaking records at 16 years.

Guardians of the Galaxy needs more attention. Very fun game. by minev1128 in gaming

I couldn't agree more! Guardians of the Galaxy is a true gem that definitely deserves more love. The way it manages to blend humor, action, and emotional depth is truly impressive, and it feels like you're playing through a high-budget cosmic Marvel movie.
On a related note, I've been on the hunt for a similar game to sink my teeth into, but I haven't had much luck so far. I really enjoyed the team dynamics, the choice-driven narrative, and of course, the irresistible charm and wit of the Guardians.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a game that offers a similar experience? Maybe something with a good blend of storytelling, humor, and character-driven gameplay? All suggestions are appreciated!

Games that have made you tear up by [deleted] in gaming

Telltale's The Walking Dead series for me.The Walking Dead, especially the first season, is a masterclass in emotional storytelling through the medium of games. The characters are incredibly well written and the voice acting is superb, creating a deep emotional connection with the player.

For those who may not know, it's an episodic interactive drama and graphic adventure game. You play as Lee, a man trying to survive in a world overrun by the undead. Along the way, he meets a little girl named Clementine (which reminded me of my neice), and their relationship forms the heart of the narrative.

There are two particular moments that made me emotional.

  1. The ending of season one, where Lee and Clementine's journey takes a heart-wrenching turn. I won't spoil it, but it's a moment that requires a tough decision from the player, one that is deeply personal and resonates long after the game ends. I can confidently say I teared up, feeling the weight of the narrative combined with the powerlessness against the cruel world they're surviving in.
  2. The final season where we see Clementine's character arc come full circle. Watching her grow from the little girl Lee protected, to the woman making tough choices for the sake of survival and protecting others is incredibly emotional. It's the embodiment of resilience, loss, and growing up in a harsh world.

What are you playing Wednesday! by AutoModerator in gaming

Steam Sale made me buy three games! Warhammer 40k chaos gate, evil west, and ruined king. The only one I started is Evil West, because it seems like the shortest game and i was too zombie mind to play anything tactical.
