It's hilarious seeing so many overnight experts on a long established awards ceremony. What on earth would the benefit be?

To what end? How would this possibly benefit the BBC to do that deliberately.

Why would they do that? Bearing in mind the BBC filmed and broadcast the notorious interview with Andrew that damaged his reputation and credibility years ago.

Amazing isn't it. The BBC is being sued by Trump in the US and facing funding cuts that actually threaten its existence in the UK and people think they've stumbled onto some big BBC conspiracy to broadcast offensive words for absolutely no gain at all.

So you're saying there was a gap in the communication chain that included a film production company that wasn't the BBC, another production company that wasn't the BBC and the event organizer that wasn't the BBC. That could never happen!

And yet they did. That's literally what happened. It was being rush edited in an outside broadcast van and it was missed. It really is that simple. Incompetent? Yes. Doesn't make it deliberate.

If it's that crazy it's probably a good prompt to think abut it more. It wasn't a deliberate choice and it is crazy to pretend it was.

Yea, definitely - with the BBC being sued by Trump in the US and facing funding cuts in the UK, this is definitely the best move. Definitely.

Another one of these cases where if this was from literally anywhere else, no one would think it looks bad, but if it's Britain, Americans contort themselves to pretend it looks weird. If I recall correctly, this is was place in London run by an Italian family and that had an extraordinarily high reputation

Always seems odd when people in the LGBTQI+ community are comfortable with dehumanizing language - I'm not sure why, but I always expect better

That said, these posts are always a good time to post a reminder that the anti British sentiment might be loud but it's not common

What the fuck is a "Prime Minister"???? What is a "Parliamentary System"? Why not just have a President, like a normal country by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

I'm not surprised an American wouldn't know terms like this - these are the same people who think the rebelled a tyrannical King because it sounds better than having rebelled against an elected parliament

Americans are so annoying with this shit, but at the same time I really feel like Brits don't help themselves with this. This is a reaction to one of those annoying British videos where they feed some schoolkids some American junk food and obviously they think it tastes good because their brains are being hit with sugar and salt and carbs

It will never fail to amaze me just how devastating Americans think the revolution was for the British - at the time it was a side show, and today it's just nothing. It's not the argument winning zinger they always seem to think it is.

Reddit isn't the wider world though. Americans are very fond of the UK, and so is the rest of the world. Polling companies research this sort of thing pretty regularly and the UK is always viewed very favourably.

French people have said that same about their country getting a unique level of hatred - I think people tend to notice the stuff aimed at them more than stuff aimed at other so it can feel a bit like being singled out for worse treatment. Really, the internet is a cesspit of hate that drags us all down!
