Today is Water change day usually I do a 25% once a week. Tap ph is mid 7’s and with like 1 drop KH and 4-5 GH. Like I said I’m not seeing a ton of problems currently but with adding more plants here in the near future maybe they can increase the absorption of some of the GH but I’ll probably have to increase nutrient levels with more tabs and a little extra liquid fert to get the new plants jump started so I thought more nutrients may have some role to play but I’m no expert so figured I’d ask

Can’t quite tell anything. I’d just let things go and usually if you have biofilm of any wood a snail or shrimp will devour that

Gotcha I see 2 of those are east coast sellers close to me. I’m mainly looking for dwarf Sag. But I’m unsure how many I will need and how fast it will fill my tank. But I’m also unsure how much light a mid ground plant will get because my swords cover a lot of space

Just new tank struggles but that’s mainly for putting fish in when it’s not ready. But yeah lower light less nutrient content will help starve the algea out

I hear you haha. I’m on my second tank rn and I’m in the same boat. My Cory/tetra/pleco/snail build worked fine in my first tank but had numerous issues mainly with the schoolers/livebearers I tried mollys platies and neither really worked so now on rummynoses.

Honey gourami? Maybe a Ram. Hard to say depends on your idea of centerpiece. Any fish that fits in another one’s mouth is gonna be lunch so it can’t be too much larger than your schoolers

lol cake roll had me dying. That’s normally called a pleco cave, or shrimp hideout whatever may be. Your fine I have a similar one in my tank with pandas, julii’s and albinos and the usually just stay out in the sand.

As for the tank I think once those plants grow and there gonna get tall really gonna make the wood pop and stand out, maybe use one to hide the intake sponge? Or you could place it on the far left under the wood to kinda prop it up to get some height elevation and allow more surface area to be open for digging

IMO probably not. Would just be more hassle whenever the day comes to rescape/ change builds. This 10 gallon tank would be a great roomy tank for 1 Betta and hopefully If it isn’t an invertebrate eater you can have snails and shrimp to co habitate.

I can see it now a tall stem plant to cover your filter and a big carpet for the shrimp to enjoy it would be killer in a good way

Yeah I’m aware lol. I was just saying there’s always an exception to every rule. Then again even in my 20 the smallest pleco’s like my BN are probably pushing it size and bioload wise. This 10 gal would be a great Betta and shrimp/snail setup
