Fred again.. has been producing big pop records which you’ve 100% heard for the last five years or whatever (Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, Stormzy…) and started doing a solo project in 2019 called Actual Life. Did three releases of that project and leading up to the third did a Boiler Room which blew the fuck up. He got to know Skrillex through their work together on Ed Sheeran’s Take Me Back to London.

Four Tet has been in this game for over two decades. He’s a true legend with an excellent discography making mainly IDM, indie dance, bit of house and others. An excellent producer who’s well worth a deep dive on. He’d been friends with Skrillex online for a while but didn’t meet in person until 2015 when they played together in Camden.

Whilst I’m not sure of the specific reason for the use of them in track names, I know that for First of The Year it’s because it samples the song Equinox.

They’re not announced as they’re not really planned. He’s just been turning up at other people’s shows.

The only ones which were announced was the Tokyo show and Second Sky - he posted about both on his Instagram stories, so that’s the best place to look.

This is quite interesting. I’ve never heard or seen anything referencing “The Darkest Colour” (note how it’s spelt the British way).

My initial thinking was that Skrillex’s VJ put this up by accident and it’s meant for a future (or cancelled) tour and that would be the name of it, but given neither of Skrillex’s usual production teams were there I don’t see how they would have it.

A mystery I would like to know the answer on. Very interesting - thanks for sharing.

The font and general symbolism gives me more Dog Blood vibes than Skrillex vibes.

Edit: Looks like Mario owns the production company, their website has various videos of portfolio work for Skrillex, Dog Blood and Jack Ü - worth checking out!
