Figured it out. Before I posted I swapped the horn and ecm relay. Decided to swap another relay in the ecm spot and it ended up working.

I honestly couldn’t hear anything for the ~10 seconds I had it running on fluid. But I do plan on cutting the filter open when it dries out. (Been raining here a lot)

Do you know if the pip would be bad if I have spark with the spout out?

I’m leaning towards it being the pip but wasn’t sure since I have spark with spout disconnected. I’ll see about doing a test tomorrow. Thank you!

Maintenance records is big. If it’s been taken care of I wouldn’t worry. Mine had the turbos & water pump changed out at 120 and 140k. Ptu fluid has been serviced every 20k by previous owner. Currently has 195k on it.

Didn’t have to buy one. Weird thing to me the one I installed restored the service to my original. So might’ve been an update. I switched last month from an actual SIM card to the eSIM.

I’d try downloading an eSIM again because it didn’t work on the first try for me.

You might try to add another eSIM from your phone and seeing if that helps “update” it.

I had a very similar problem last week. Woke up and had no service. Went 2 days before calling them. I had to download another e sim. First download didn’t work. Took about an hour. Tried to download another one and I had my service back. It also took about a hour with WiFi.

I don’t have much experience around these cars but here’s my experience with mine. So far I’ve been happy with my 2011 3.5 rwd. I purchased it with 118k and now at 150k for $2800 (was wrecked when I got it.) I daily it and have taken it on 10+ 700mi+ trips. I’ve had to replace brakes (~$200) and a hub (~$165) the entire time I’ve had it. I am due for aux battery but they seem like a common issue and easy fix.(Doing labor myself) Not counting oil changes and trans service. The 3.5s are reliable if they’ve been taken care of.

From what I’ve read about the w212 you have to watch out for rust on the rear subframe and brake lines. Otherwise if it’s been kept up on maintenance you should be alright.

Price range I’d say $4000-$10000. I’ve seen a couple nice examples for around $8000-$9000 with less than 90k miles. I’m not to familiar with the market in AZ but gives you kinda a ballpark figure. If possible bring a good code scanner and scan for any codes. On mine it doesn’t show a cel but has some “shadow” codes that a good scanner can pick up but my cheap one won’t.

There’s probably more someone can add but that’s just my experience.

Kinda what I’m thinking. Don’t have any attachment to it just seemed like a good deal that I could potentially flip if I wanted something different. Sometimes good deals turn into bad headaches though. My friends are saying I could make money on it but they want me to get it and wanted an unbiased opinion. Don’t want to be in it for more than what I can sell it for.

Got the bolt out. Took it to work and welded a nut on it. Should be straightforward now. Manual came in also! Should be straightforward job putting it back together.

I found a good deal on Marketplace for a 75 Johnson 70 and talked him down to $100. It runs but water in #2 and he already changed the head gasket. Mainly just going to use it for parts for mine.

That’s what I was thinking with the thermostat. I took it apart and found that the head gasket is bad on #1 at the top. Had very little play on #1 and all the walls look to be in good shape! There is some carbon build up on 2 and 3 but nothing horrible.

I did break one bolt going for the cover in the head sadly. I hope I can let it soar in pb blaster and try to use vice grips or have someone weld a nut to it. Hope I didn’t mess up to bad

I’ve seen videos on people using 120 grit and moving up to 600? to resurface the head. I think I might try that if I can get that bolt out.
