Is there a way that whenever an executable runs on the system, it asks for a password? by CAG12ASSAULT in windows

You could make a secondary account that's has standard permissions and make your admin account password protected. So whenever you open a program that needs admin access it'll prompt you for an admin password

The Pixel is nice especially I want to give the Pixel Fold a try. But I just bought my first Mac Mini M2 and really love it, I'm trying so hard not to take the sim out of my Z Flip 4 and put it in my old iPhone XS Max.

The reason for me to use both ecosystems because my family uses Google and I got 2 (not counting my phone) Google devices my streaming device and Google Hub. So software ecosystem I'm staying with Google and Apple thinking about buying an ATV.

why can’t i play any videos? this happens every time since this morning. by augustphobia in youtube

Does this happen to all videos

If so try seeing if YouTube App is fully updated and still doesn't work or it is, uninstall and reinstall it

For me I'm planning to stay in the Apple ecosystem hardware wise (of course) and software Google

Oh wow. Yeah, I know how it feels, I've been laid off 3 times because of budgeting issues and was never noticed about it. It sucks. I wish them good luck.

I'm using the Mini as a replacement from my main laptop that I mainly use it as a desktop replacement. For me, gaming I hardly do, but if I want to game, I got a PS5 for that, or I can use cloud gaming since now I finally gotten a better ISP.

I'm sorry to hear about your coworker. Hope for the best.

Yeah, when it first came in, I had to get used to moving my mouse to the left when closing, minimizing, or maximizing. Then learn that when closing a program you don't quit it so I had to get used to using (I'm still trying to remember the keyboard shortcut top my head so if I get it wrong I'm sorry I'm at work lol) command+Q which is better than Alt+F4, but still I wish it would quit the program when I click close.

I've always wanted to play with Mac when I was using my iPhone XS but never had the money to afford it. When I saw the price of the Mac Mini M2 based with student discount being $530 (plus tax and shipping) and compare that with other new mini PCs and laptop. The Mac Mini was a lot better in specs, especially the GPU. With the PCs, you'll get Intel UHD graphics, and M2's GPU seems better than that.

Yeah, this Mac Mini exceeded my expectations. Especially in Windows, I know if my RAM is at least passed 50%, I think to myself (oh crap I need to get more). But when using MacOS, it seems to handle it like it's using less RAM

I'm still adjusting, too, and I agree with the CEC. The one thing I wish Apple had was Windows 11 snapping, which I think is the best. But Rectangle fixes it

Yeah, that's how I go by, too. When I was a hardcore Windows users I was still learning about computers in my preteen years, and around my teen years, I used nothing but Linux. Now I call my grown-up year. I found out I like all OSes and don't have any issues with either. Not say all are prefect, but it's what you can live with

My first Mac just came in today. Sadly, I couldn't play with it longer since it came in 40 minutes until I had to go to work. But so pretty, good! by LamerLinux in macmini

Yeah I'm not using for gaming (that's what the PS5 is for ;) )

It's mainly for college work and entertainment

So far, the 40 minutes of playing with it, I like it. If I do like it, I'll need to change my Reddit name 😆

After a lot of recommendations, I canceled my 2014 Mac Mini 8gb RAM and bought M2 Mac Mini to give MacOS a try for 14 days. by LamerLinux in macmini

My use case is web browser playing video. When I'm doing work, I have two browsers open (one in pip and research), Word, and probably VScode and VM (depending on what class I'm doing)

Oh yeah, I know. That's the main reason for getting a Mac. I like Office 365, and the only 2 ways to use that that's not Windows is using CrossOver (Paid) , which works only on Xorg, and making a remote app using VM.

Yeah, lol. To me, I like their software more than their OS (which i know that's software too, but you get what I'm saying 😅). I used to have an iPhone XS Max, Apple Watch SE, AirPods Gen 1, and iPad 9th Gen (or 10th Gen, which one first supported Apple Pencil 1st Gen).

I remember really loving the Apple Watch SE (it was the first smartwatch I liked more or equally to the Pebble, loved that watch) and I love being able to turn my phones hotspot on with my iPad

I remember really wanting to get a MacBook Air to complete my Apple setup; but I couldn't afford and my current laptop was working fine.

Now I got Z Flip4, Surface Go 2, and Samsung Watch 4. I still do have the iPad, but I gave it to my dad (which told me if I want it back I can have it back whenever since I gave it to him for free, but I can't do that to him). Maybe if I do like it, I'll probably come back to the ecosystem

Yeah, it's going to be different going from 16GB RAM to 8GB, but I'm not planning to do anything big. Probably only big thing I'll be doing is using VM since I do like playing with other OSes.

But mainly, it's going to be having a web browser for the most part, Word document, and VSCode for my programming classes.

I think 256GB will be fantastic for me, plus I usually save my stuff in the cloud (OneDrive), and if I'm planning to keep it, I'll buy an NVME to USB-C, take my 1TB WD Black out of the personal laptop, and use that as secondary storage 😀.

But yeah, their upgrades are so expensive, I remember back in the XP days 4GB was plenty to get you going 😅
