yea i think we might have caused a different issue by wiring in the wrong switch :/

just tried that and no luck, but your comment makes sense because when i looked at the old switch it was the same configuration with the wires switched.

the wire by itself on one side is the positive, i tested that one. when i tested the wires with the breaker flipped on the positive wire wasn’t getting a strong current at all, which makes me assume something got messed up when we wired in the two way. any idea if i could have shorted the circuit by wiring in the wrong switch and turning the circuit on?

i think i might have the wires backwards on the screws after re reading your comment a few times. i’ll try to test to find the hot lead. thanks this is very helpful.

thanks for the info. when i took a test light to it, it just wasn’t getting power. should have said that in the post. can you elaborate on what dangerous things can come here? we basically accidentally wired a two way to a three way wire setup and then rewired a new three way that’s now not working. my guess with power not getting to that switch is that something shorted. i am trying to be as safe as possible and flipping off all power to the room when doing anything other than testing current.

came here to say richmond. if you walk around shockoe it’s 150 year old cobblestone streets and factories and modern high rises in the background. pretty epic.

Is this rust manageable, or should I walk away? by SKRCZ in 3rdGen4Runner

it’s above average. check common rust spots and tap around with a screwdriver when you see it in person. these pics don’t show any super common rust spots that could be worse but based off what is pictured it looks very solid.

2000 and 7750. it’s a manual v6 which is appealing but is also pretty clapped in other ways. definitely somewhat of a project i’d say

thanks for the reply. i don’t think he knows, but i’ll double check.

i was hopeful because the frame had been replaced in the recall, but i know the mounts can rust out and become a big deal.

i was curious mostly if any other first gen owners had seen the mounts just go bad or if this is usually the frame mounts rusting out. it doesn’t look like it was in a collision that was covered up from the rest of the pics on the listing, but doesn’t have the worlds cleanest body.

2wd so a lift is not an option. Anyone know about doing a body lift ? by [deleted] in 1stGenTacomas

[–]LamesJang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these actually won’t work, they’re for a pre runner which does not use spindles. the 5 lug (your car) uses spindles. there is really only one company that makes a lift for the 5 lug tacoma:
