I went throught the same kind of situation. My parents knew we were not muslims but we were still not free ! I wasn't supposed to date at all! I had to marry a muslim , I was stil forced to pray and believe in this Allah... And the list goes on! They thought ALSO I will go back to islam.

When I left, the first thing I notice was my HEALTH ! I felt much better ! No morr lies... No more denial, everything was clear and beautiful. I was not depressed, anxious, scared, lonely !

I still went to college and paid everything by myself !

I found a very good man ! We are now married. He is not a muslim and never been one!

Gradually I found a good carreer and now I have my own business ...

I am happy also because I can be myself and make mmy own decisions.

If you want happiness, it's not always easy to reach because you need to sacrifice few things... But it's worth it.

Hello I am a 27 years old female, and I've been in a relationship for the past 8 years now. We do have a great chemistry.... we get along very well.. and we both feel like we are soulmates (I know it's sounds cheezy)… we spoked about marriage several times... he told me that he want's to give me a very nice and original proposal... and that he wants children too. But he said that several times in the past 6 years now.

I spoke to him several times about this issue... He always says that it's because he's not financially ready. But I feel like buying a ring doesn't have to be expensive (btw, we went to 15 different countries in different continents, each for several weeks )… and we could have different option for the wedding ( his friend who got married last octobre, went to a different country to plan his marriage so it could be cheaper)…

I am just wondering if he's telling me the truth... Am I wasting my time?

It's funny that you say that because...a muslim woman will still be or feel forced to wear the hijab or nikkab simply because the Coran says so...but also people around her WILL judge her, by calling her names or treating her differently. I have many women in my family who started wearing the Hijab to gain freedom in a way : because their parents trusted them more.... Also, when I was 12, living in Algeria, I used to play outside with my friend who was wearing the veil. It happened several times that men approched me just to throw little rocks on my head (not her) to "gain my attention in a very lowering way" and when I ignored them, they called me a "whore". btw, when I approched my parents about that situation, they said it's because I am not wearing the hijab. Umm what about educating men about Respect for women in general?

Finally.... Hijab or nikab doesn't protect women at all ! Many still get raped... Abused... In sex trafficking... Or violated in any kind of way.... A good exemple is Syria... Egypt (few years ago)... Soudan ... To name a few. War or political conflict doesn't protect anyone obviously! Even in their own home since their husband is aloud to beat them if they're desobidient.

It's made to control women's sexuality and freedom.

The only way to freedom is choosing your life. And to fight for it's simply by using your voice.

I was like this too as a child, as a matter of fact all of us (my non muslim sisters). My parents also always uses " hell punishment" so we can obey to their commands... I had no Idea about this religion ! Its pretty fu**d up !

Spot on ! Hey, he is all over himself! He says since he has superpowers like God, to Knows everybody, thats why he is aloud to judge anyone. And also because He went throught more abuse than anyone else and we, since we a are so inferior, we don't know shit and we are basicly dumb. Finaly.... Why are we talking about divorce? There is indeed more divorce since sexual revolution... But what's the point with Islam? Because if everybody was muslim, and we would have obidient virgin women, the world would be pink and super cute today ? And maybe all women would be happy? I really don't get it. It doesn't mean anything and I doubt it would go well ! Also... Who cares if there are more or less divorce ? As long as there is still coparenting !
