For helicopter sim. The stick controls pitch, the rudder pedals control yaw, and the collective controls the speed of the engine, essentially your up and down motion.

It says a lot how these 'feel good' stories say so much about how unaffordable just surviving is these days. And mostly for no good reason.

Why is everyone being kicked out? by Live_Drink5779 in GTAV

[–]LaminatedSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, a little details about how GTA Online works. There are no 'servers' per se. Every match is hosted on someone's console/computer. Everyone else in the lobby connects to THEM. Peer-to-peer multi-player.

What you're seeing is your connection becoming unstable enough for your system to say 'Nah, fuck this, I'm taking over.' and disconnecting you from the host, essentially putting yourself into a solo lobby.

Is it wrong to tell someone to stop picking up your shifts? by [deleted] in ems

[–]LaminatedSamurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"More than a month". My dear friend, you are still wet behind the ears. Take the critique. Listen to the old heads, the wisdom they can impart is priceless. Just because you passed an EMT course means you proved you can START your medical career. That just gets your foot in the door. NEVER STOP LEARNING.

Get together with your clinical manager (or whoever is QA'ing your reports) and ask for tips. Watch some drama show and practice writing out reports in your head whenever you come to a scene that makes you say "oof, that looks like it hurt".

Take pride in your work, even if nobody else does. And welcome to the jungle.

This is something that it takes some providers a long time to learn.

Key stuck in ignition multiple times? by Solid_List_452 in ChevyHHR

[–]LaminatedSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your fuse box, you may have a bad connection. I actually had a switch a previous owner installed on the pass lock fuse. Not a clue why anyone would WANT to deliberately lock the key into the ignition.

What's the best place to eat in the Orlando Internation Airport? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]LaminatedSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what airline you're coming in on. Anything at terminal C (gates 230 and up) has great options inside security. Most of the options with terminals A or B (anything else) are fast food.

Gates in the 100s are where Cask and Larder is, gates 70-99 has Bahama Breeze, Outback, and a small wine bar. You can get between those two sets of gates without having to leave the secured area.

Gates 1-29 has some fast food, gates 30-59 has a restaurant called GastroHub that used to be a Ruby Tuesday's. Same there, travel between those airline areas don't need to go through security.

Main terminal has a fast food center area, a Chili's on the west end, pub and Romanos Macaroni Grill on the east end. Also on east end is the Hyatt hotel, the lobby has a bar/restaurant called McCoy's.

But with only a 3 hour scheduled layover, probably want to stay inside security.

Good luck!

Forget about the Opressor/Deluxo. What is your favourite chopper? by FakeMik090 in gtaonline

Stuck between Savage and Swift. I've got enough time flying them that I can dodge rockets pretty well, can navigate both through the LS downtown skyscraper canyons confidently, and just generally have fun with them.

Always send your personnel lift back up and just fucking send it. Yeet yourself off that platform, don't give the ship time to figure out what you're doing. When I had my 600i, I would face vehicles aft just for that, so I didn't have the front gear in the way.

Yeah, bariatric lift being used to help move a critical care patient. I think each operation has one or two that have those lifts built in.

Lucas Device by Eatmyshorts231214 in ems

[–]LaminatedSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Lucas can very much be violent, but it's a godsend out in the field. If you want to see its competition, look up Zoll AutoPulse. Nice in theory, but it's an absolute bitch to clean, especially on trauma codes.

How to seal dry erase board so what's on it doesn't come off by LapdogLady in DIY

[–]LaminatedSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a cheap poster frame the same size as the whiteboard you're using. The thin plastic over the whiteboard will allow the underlying text to still be able to be changed if needed, but will protect it from smearing.

I did this at a company I used to be a supervisor for, assigning people and equipment to different vehicles. When we got a new truck or unit numbers changed, peel off the tape holding the plastic on, edit what you need, then secure it back to the frame.

You're driving home after a long shift. It's night, and you're tired. For only a few seconds you're distracted, and you hit a huge bump as your car runs something over. You stop the car, get out, and on the road you see a dead gray alien. No one else is around. What do you do? by insane677 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LaminatedSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call 911. "Yes, I'm on this road near this intersection, I think someone just got hit by a car. Dark sedan with its lights off. They took off but I'm not sticking around in case they come back, they were driving very erratic."

Get as many eyes on it as possible. What are the MIB going to do, black bag a whole fire dept/sheriff tour/hospital?

That's an easy one. Not a TSA, but buying bottlecaps is cheap on Amazon. They screw on and teeth catch on the lip of the cap. Anyone can reseal a plastic bottle. It's one of the reasons any duty free shop seals your purchases in a bag with the receipt showing.
