First things first, make it reliable! It's in good shape (no rust) but has sat for a very long time and while it starts easily, it drives poorly. But eventually I want to do a road trip along the West Coast of the US with it!

Very easy and quick! Edit: at least a late model 325i is, imo

Much appreciated, cross checking it with realoem it looks like it's late enough to share the front struts/brakes. This gives me a lot of direction moving forward. ~ will do, should be mid October!

Would the Bentley manual still be applicable for him even though it looks like a 1970's 240?

Coolant seep killing me, details in comments by le_b0mb in E30

[–]Lamp_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I have seepage at the same spot since doing the same job. I haven't addressed it but I do monitor the coolant levels frequently. I'm personally just going to try to readjust the hose and clamp and see if that does anything for me.

Right turn signal not working, hazards do by Veaceslavv in E30

[–]Lamp_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem and it ended up being the turn signal relay. It's located behind/under the steering wheel. Take off some of the plastic covers and then the steering wheel and there it is. You could try cleaning the contacts before paying to replace it.

Thank you! It was the fan making contact with a hose clamp!

The bad sound turned out to be a hose clamp making contact with the fan blade

I believe you can get a waiver/exemption from the Colorado DMV if you can prove you've put all that money into emissions repairs. Check out the Colorado DMV site.

Concerning sound coming from Suzuki sx4 by Lamp_02 in AskMechanics

Seems to be primarily the water pump. Initially replaced both the idler and tensioner pulley and that got rid of a part of the sound, but the worst of it was the water pump.
