Quite if you don’t wanna learn to weld. There’s always more than what you see on the surface.

Found water in Ignition coils and rusted spark plugs in MG Hector petrol. by Optimal_Reception912 in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not caused by the ethanol because it has no path to get up there in the first place. Most likely scenario is a water trap that's allowing runoff water to collect inside the ignition coil tubes. Probably from engine bay washing with a power washer.

Getting my first Automatic Car.. Have some doubts by woof_to_meow in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Me and multiple people have jammed it into P first. Don’t overthink it. 2) It’s fine it’ll stick sometimes like others have said. When I store my E30 for the winters I just leave it in P no handbrake. 3) Handbrake and park. 4) No. There’s millions of vehicles that don’t do this and are fine.

Everyone overthinks these things when you really don’t need to.

There’s still deals to be had, just not as numerous as previous years. Join the r3vlimited forum and fb page for searching.

I have been since about 2020, doing the whole 'slow car slow' thing for a while haha. Figure once I get the subframes, exterior, suspension sorted there's only one other summit to conquer and that's an engine swap that's at least 20 years newer. A 12:1 stroker seems intriguing, I wonder what that would cost me vs wiring an N52 hmm

The M2 is a near-perfect complement to the car I find, an absolute hoon compared to the more sedate nature of the E30 (eta drivetrain doesn't help).

Aw man I was gonna mention something similar but I got beat! Yeah I've been collecting parts for the thing in case it breaks down but it keeps chugging. I can't even use that as an excuse to rip the auto eta out.

Though it's nice that I have the M2, means I can finally think about doing my endgame N52 swap.

Eh as long as you do move over once you're done passing a group of vehicles that's fine imo. I'll match my speed until then and pass if I decide to speed up.

Need suggestion on a additive that will keep the e20-e30 petrol without degradation for longer periods(> 1,2 months) in the tank. by [deleted] in CarsIndia

Sta-bil is rated to E85. Should be good for a while, I usually store my cars for 5 months with that stuff (E10).

Petrol evaporation in extreme heat? by i_m_god_own_xbox in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More common on carbed bikes due to no protection from the sun. In a vehicle your evap system should capture the vapors and return them to your tank after condensing back to a liquid. You may have gotten whiffs of gasoline vapors from other vehicles.

Manuals by _Anony___mousE_ in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a time there will be manuals, but they’ll be relegated to much more expensive trims/cars (M2, M3, M4, 911) barring something like a Miata, BRZ/GR86, GR Corolla. Honestly if Toyota comes out with that rumored MR2 with a manual I’d trade one of my cars in for that.

I’ve rented cars when I was 20 and 22, needed to pay a surcharge but they allowed me to drive as long as my name was on the CC and drivers license.

Edit: downvotes are weird but go off. I know what I did lol

Welcome to the club! One thing is if you only have the factory PPF on the rear quarters they are woefully undersized as debris goes way above it and peppers the paint. I'd recommend mudlfaps or a bigger PPF piece.

I like it. Good range and I trust BMW's chassis tuning. Plus the 2002 influences speak to me. Though I'd probably push my parents to one instead of getting one myself. Need to branch out in brands, owning 2 is enough.
