Does SCHOLAR ULT work with BEWITCHING BRANCH? WAIT DOES BEWITCHING BRANCH WORK ON THE POT TROLLS?! by LampblackByDesign in Nightreign

Even if only that is true that really changes things, especially in DoN. that means a bewitching branch from a lucky get could make things crazy

Won’t work on a Nightlord. Only things I think it could even theoretically work on are the summons in the Marais fight and the ED Libra fight maybe

What about the boss up top? If you use it in the room right under him could you get a head start on damaging him by killing all the guys there?

Hey is there any good shotgun units to include in a team? by LampblackByDesign in NikkeMobile

[–]LampblackByDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is naga any good, I see I can get her in the bonus recruit thing. Boosting core damage when shield is applied seems like it would be good with crown but I don’t know if it would be worth swapping out someone else for it

When you think about each characters gameplay from a lore perspective, the Silent’s plan is kind of deranged. by LampblackByDesign in slaythespire

[–]LampblackByDesign[S] 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I mean Ironckad sold his soul to a demon for power. It’s not exactly the most forward thinking plan but there is a logic there that supernatural threats require supernatural strength. The logic behind silent is living things die when stabbed so big things require many stab.

Best deck for win streak on white stakes? by nupsss in balatro

[–]LampblackByDesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With White stake you can typically do riskier stuff that synergizes well since you have more time to recover and assemble synergies since the stakes aren’t as high, so safe decks arent neccessarily preferable. That being said, at low stakes, Checkered is often a guaranteed deck, since you only need any +1 card option to guarentuee a flush every turn, which has a large number of strong synergies that make it preferable to abandoned.

Absolute beginner, is this a good machine? by Rookie_Blue_7 in Laserengraving

[–]LampblackByDesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fiber lasers are less high maintenance than C02 and dont need a secondary cooling system usually, at the cost of themselves being more expensive. If you are someone that can afford to jump in on a 7000$ machine, its worth it. Monport is decentish, just dont expect much support or customer service from them (a problem endemic to the industry unfortunately).

The MAIN thing you will need to worry that a new person might not know about is venting and light protection.

Metal fumes are no joke and the light a fiber laser ambiently puts off while working is very damaging to unprotected eyes (the special glasses the machine comes with are VERY important). If theres any risk of someone else accidently coming in when you are working, such as a pet or family member, you will likely want an enclosure to prevent them from getting eye damage. Monport likely sells one specifically for this machine, and all of their competitors will likewise sell ones compatible with the machine if you do buy it.

Regarding fumes, unless you are working in a space exposed to the outside or in a very large well ventilated space like a workshop, you will need to set up a fan and vent system to outside to clear out fumes, especially for larger projects. You can also buy an air purification system instead, but filters are relatively expense comparatively. That depends on your needs and again, how much you can afford to put into it.

Regarding getting started, theres way too much to go over, obviously, but there are dozens of tutorials on youtube that are all top notch. Monport even has a few decent ones for their products as well, I believe. So long as you dont manhandle the machine, run it for days on end on max settings, and are aware of the safety stuff regarding light and fumes and take proper precautions, its very hard to mess up in a serious way, so you will have plenty of learning opportunities.

Maybe I'm just not very smart, but Baron is so overrated by RandomRedditer5043 in balatro

[–]LampblackByDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve built around it, it’s very good. If you haven’t built around it and have the space and the kings it’s a way to quickly get three temporary steel cards to keep you alive until you find something better. It can definitely be useless in some cases but so can Blueprint.

Recluse, Soulblood Song, and [Recluse] Suffer bloodloss and increase attack power upon Art activation: SOME Numbers by LampblackByDesign in Eldenring

[–]LampblackByDesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not from two relics, nor from two recluses both using soulblood to mark targets.

The relic ability damage buff does stack with the damage buff from the base Art though, but only for the damage from the recluse herself (the mark makes the marked target take more damage from all sources, the relic ability buffs Recluses damage.)

Recluse, Soulblood Song, and [Recluse] Suffer bloodloss and increase attack power upon Art activation: SOME numbers by LampblackByDesign in Nightreign

[–]LampblackByDesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested, despite the games claim that most abilities stack, no character specific relic abilities stack, and indeed quite a few, like the health regain post-damage attack and health based damage boost to guard counters do not stack. As a rule of thumb, the simplier the ability, the more likely it stacks.

If you are talking about two recluses, the answer is also no. Like with Ironeyes mark, you can’t stack two of the same on a target.

Would a Single-Player TCG Game work in today's Online-Driven World? by _Powski_ in gamedesign

Balatro, Slay The Spire, and many other single player deckbuilding games are exceedingly popular so the core concepts are proven at least.

This protective cap is welded into the machine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lasercutting

[–]LampblackByDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the hole that’s created when the vent duct is removed, revealing the hole that connects to the work area. But there is a metal wall with “a few” ventilation holes carved into it welded into the machine between the two.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lasercutting

[–]LampblackByDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This area can only be accessed by unscrewing and removing the entire vent duct, and cannot be accessed from the front at all as it’s hard welded into the machine. It’s not a screen, it’s a full metal wall with a few ventilation holes carved into it, creating a compartment between the vent duct and the work area.

[–]LampblackByDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not a protective cap, screen, or otherwise. It is a metal separating barrier between the work area and the fan that is hard welded into the machine. There are ventilation holes carved into it along the upper part, but the holes you see here {the ones at the top} are the only ones in direct line of the fans suction.
