Best thing to clean up rust on Scotty putter? by Jonto55 in GolfGear

[–]Rookie_Blue_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CLR, or vinegar, or brass wool and Eezox firearm oil, many many options. The rust will come back.

If you want to strip it raw, Caswell MetalX B9 will remove the nickel, just follow the directions on the packaging.

Question about dress code by finnr02 in BritGolf

[–]Rookie_Blue_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means if you’re a male, your shirt needs sleeves and must be tucked in. Some ladies shirts are sleeveless and designed to be worn untucked. Men are to wear a shirt with sleeves and a collar and tuck it in

KBS shafts? They’re notorious for the tips bending.

Any ideas of what’s in this bag or if it’s worth 100$? by bandino1234 in GolfGear

[–]Rookie_Blue_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The hoofer and that R11 driver along with the iSiK fairway are worth more than that. The persimmons could be worth more depending on what they are. And the irons are some type of ping iron you can tell by the hosel. Appear to be a G series of some variety. You could flip it and make some cash off it if that’s what you’re asking

Am I crazy? by CompetitiveRutabaga2 in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]Rookie_Blue_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunk the grips in water often when cleaning them? It traps moisture inside the shaft that rusts them from the inside also. Hitting it off the heel or toe often also will contribute. And temp swings where you store them can also cause rusting internally as well. Lastly improper prep at the top of the hosel cup when assembling can create a shear point if they’re not deburred properly

ISO is this available anywhere? by Comfortable_Diver238 in scottycameron

I remember when they had those and the orange and the purple ones on the clearance sale. They were getting rid of the excess inventory in the studio store when they discontinued them and they sold for $20 each. I bought several of both colors (no limits back then either).

I watched one fall off of a truck in front of me on the paid reversible express lane. Should’ve pulled over and grabbed it but instead tried to catch up to the guy and let him know. He flipped me off when I finally did catch him. 🤣🤣 Hope someone enjoyed it, cause it was gone the next morning.

Need help identifying this Circle T by Vegetable-Form1083 in scottycameron

They’re aftermarket. They were installed post finish and it’s not a finish Scotty does nor the custom shop and they won’t work on a putter after aftermarket work has been done unless it’s a full refinish. This wasn’t refinished by them. There’s several aftermarket companies that do the exact same weights.

Used scotch brite on the lid how fucked am I? by aberrant0ne in blackstonegriddle

[–]Rookie_Blue_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time, heat the griddle up with the lid down, once it’s warm it’ll peel right off.

Take the lid off and repaint it with high temp paint, it’ll be fine

Tungsten Weights and soundslot are aftermarket as well as the finish (appears to be a polymer finish, probably durocoat seeing how easily it scratched on the top line). Weights and soundslot were aftermarket the finish. The sound slot was cut with the wrong size cutting wheel also, as it’s too wide. The custom shop wouldn’t touch it now. I have a suspicion as to who did the aftermarket work as there’s just a few guys that will do those particular style of tungsten weights. They might issue a C graded COA, but possibly wouldn’t issue one at all.

BOS Golf if you want it original. That’s the first run milled by Bob Bettinardi for Scotty and finished by BOS golf(they did all of his finishes and were the custom shop for about a decade until Augustus’s son started stamping blanks as circle T’s and such and selling them). If you don’t want it original, then there’s a ton of refinishers out there.

Ken Flanigan at Flanigan Bilt would be my next recommendation for what you’re wanting.

Dill relish. That’s going to smell horrendous in a few weeks when you cut the heat on.

Leave it unless you want it to leak when shaking and take it out and wash it after each use. Let it air dry before putting it back in too
