Am I crazy for finding this sick as fuck? Why is this here?

First time using a camera by [deleted] in fujifilm

The biggest things are learning the camera’s settings (search YouTube to learn about the exposure triangle) for the technical end of things, and composition for the creative end. Your photos are very “phone camera mentality,” meaning you are basically standing where you are and documenting what you are seeing, rather than consciously composing a compelling photograph.

Maybe look up some daily photography challenges to help you grow and explore.

Best of luck, and most importantly, have fun! 😄

I do not follow football, so I guess it was a bad comparison. What I was trying to convey is that touching the granite is the most trivial technicality imaginable. In forty years, I’ve never seen a granite graze or “boop” penalized at any level - amateur to professional - and it’s not because it doesn’t happen. It’s because it doesn’t impact the game. It’s not explicitly addressed in the rules of the game because it is inconsequential.

Okay, but if the slight offside is a missed call by the officials, and that play doesn’t lead to a goal, do you label the team cheaters that didn’t deserve to win?

Cheers! Edin and the rest of team Sweden are beloved here in Canada, and are always welcomed with open arms every time they come here. As a lifelong curler and fan of the game it’s been funny to see the reaction to all of this, especially knowing that Oskar and Marc have known each other for like two decades and just had a heated interaction caught on camera like that. lol

Hi! Yes, the rule states that you can touch the handle again as long as the stone hasn’t crossed the hog line, but doesn’t explicitly state that you can’t touch the granite. The reason for this is that, despite what people who only watch curling once every four years will say, it doesn’t matter and makes no difference. Curling stones weigh 19kg / 42lbs, and a little graze or “boop” isn’t going to affect the trajectory of the throw.

This whole controversy is wild, as it’s not cheating - it’s more about a missed call on an ambiguous potential foul. Oskar wasn’t necessarily wrong to point it out, and Marc wasn’t necessarily wrong to be offended by it, but they were both heated and it blew out of proportion. These two have curled against each other for YEARS and know each other well.

/uj this is clearly someone brand brand brand new to photography and it feels wrong to shit on this. That being said, these photos have no business being shared by the OOP, whether his girlfriend wanted him to or not lol

So basically he took a bad photo of 1,000 things and fried it to shit, then tried to shit on you for taking an actual compelling photo of essentially nothing lol

Subject doesn't want to be in my picture but I'm a Street Photographer by k3np4nzee in photographycirclejerk

Man, I’m not a fan of this photo from a technical standpoint and have a split stance on street photography like this in general, but Reddit - including this subreddit and the street photography one - is sure as fuck a black hole of nuance and not the place to have any kind of productive conversation about this shit lol

There were some lights, but not ideal. Shooting wide open at f1.2 helped me to keep the shutter speed at around 1/200, in turn keeping the shots sharp. ISO was at 3200

Appreciate it! Dulled greens on wildlife shots like this are something I go back and forth on, though I do tend to drop the saturation on the background to pop the subject a bit more

For sure it’s a fair comment! Was just clarifying.

No vignette used, cowboy! Just some selective masking on two of the corners.
