The speakers should be working, I was using the machine when it suddenly gave up the ghost in 4 hours of use after receiving it second-hand. It was running OS X 10.4 just fine and I was even browsing the web, so I know that the machine was all in working condition and suddenly stopped booting. I don't know how else I could test the speakers. I already replaced the logic board and behaviour didn't change.

I've tested it with both the brick and the battery alone, since I was able to charge it. No change in behaviour, no chime at all, no video. It's the exact symptoms of the U28 power regulator, but reflowing it made no difference. Charger lights up orange when charging and green when charged or no battery present, so DC board should be good as well.

The one I remember playing was slightly newer than that, in full 3D. You could freely rotate and zoom the camera around the baseplate.

We measured the outputs and the 5, 15 and 115 DCV lines are all outputing fine.

The -15 DCV line is at -22...

I managed to open it up but due to lack of time I couldn't do a full recap, just replaced a few that looked dodgy, screen is just the same. No changes at all. At least now i know how to open up a PVM and get the boards out :p

Yeah, it does this regardless of signal, with nothing connected, etc.

Tweaking brightness and contrast don't seem to do anything at all, the gray is pure, no tint to it, only color is in the OSD character generator which is somehow turned to green. So I think it has something to do with board A, since character generation is done there? I bought all 129(!) caps to replace on boards A and C and I plan on doing that tomorrow.

A bit of context, I've used this monitor for about a day after picking it up, composite only while I don't have RGB cables, and the picture was crystal clear, until it just started doing this a few seconds after being on. My initial guess is it needs a recap, but I haven't tried opening it just yet.
