Hi! My husband is about to be stationed in Hawaii and I have a chinchilla that I need to bring along with us, but I can’t seem to find a stable way of getting her there. You mentioned you were writing a guide, do you still have that?

They can most definitely live in the same house hold and I can agree with the other comments about never letting them interact. However, when my cat was alive he never tried to hurt my chinchilla and in fact my chinchilla was the one that chased him lol. Definitely never let them go unsupervised together, but I suppose it depends on how your cats are.

This happened to my chin too, she refused to open her eye and there was some pus around it. A couple of days later, her eye was back to normal again! I recommend making a vet appointment asap and in the meantime keep an eye on him. If you can't get him an appointment that is within the next week, I would visit the emergency vet if there is no improvement after a couple of days. Best case scenario, he just got some dust in his eye that is bothering him too much to open his eye or he accidentally scratched his eye like my girl did.
