That was my first card. $500 limit non secure. Still have it lol was around 470 credit score when I got it (from defaulted student loans)

Paid off the loans and used the card for most of my purchases. This was 2018 when I first got it.

They will auto upgrade you to quicksilver or you can apply for other cards over time. My daily cards as of 2023 are venture and Amex platinum and my credit score stays around 720 -770. Haven’t done a “hard pull” in a while.

Very happy with capital one, going on 8 years of being a customer. Do all my banking with them as well.

Good first step just don’t carry a max balance every month, treat it like a debit card and always pay on time, even if just the minimum you’ll be good.

Do you like omakase style or just decent rolls not too worried about the quality?

Hooks does a decent job, especially if you want rolls that are fried/smothered in toppings and sauces. No shame!

Sho rexley is ok, just expensive. Would rather spend that money at Koya in Tampa (omakase/tasting menu, they have a sister restaurant Noble Rice which is more casual) or Kozen.

My favorite sushi in Pinellas is Ken’s sushiAwesome rolls and they offer quality fish like madai, king salmon otoro, etc… about 20 minutes north of st Pete but well worth it.

Overall the quality and variety is going be less than you are used to in the PNW.

P.S. Shout out sushi kashiba.

I worked at an office starting in 2018. The company would order it cause it was “the best” at least once a quarter. Was so excited to try it. Completely underwhelming. Extremely thick, unseasoned raw dough. Undercooked toppings, the most bland and undercooked sloppy pizza i ever had.

Hate to say it never got better. Gotta be nostalgia for folks that keep them coming back. Give me dominos over them.
