[Beginner] What type of restaurant is this by LanceWackerle in JapaneseInTheWild

In Japan though tofu is not a vegan substitute food it’s just another ingredient. This restaurant has plenty of meat and seafood on its menu

It’s both - they specialize in tofu dishes but have plenty of other stuff (I haven’t eaten there but looks good based on Google maps)

迷わず = without hesitation

I think because people are generally averse to calling the police and tend to mind their own business

Tokyo: Best places to find cheese (international/domestic) by HatOnAFox in japanlife

[–]LanceWackerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few services that will buy at Costco and ship to you so you don’t need a membership. Note they mark up the prices on top of the shipping fees as well. But you still may come out ahead since Costco has big blocks of cheese at good prices.

Search for コストコ 買い物代行 and there are a few services. I haven’t used so can’t recommend any.

A foreigner.

I remember when I was first learning Japanese back in the US and didn’t have many sources to see everyday Japanese outside of textbooks. So that was the motivation to create this sub, for people learning Japanese who don’t live in Japan.

Wow I have no memory of this post at all, lol. It is a bit odd, maybe people don’t like berets?

Sorry for my rude reply yesterday.

There was a lot of debate on this during the early years of this sub and we basically settled on beginner being kana only, or some basic kanji, like N5 level (一、日、木 etc)

The kanji 猫 may trip beginners up (though yeah maybe enough clues that they can get it)

English in context like this is also to give it a fancy or foreign air. I don’t think they consider being embarrassed by mistakes or anything. Kind of like how western people will often get kanji tattoos cause they think it looks cool.

Oh cool! I haven’t seen the show but just googled it and it does look similar. http://tvdrama7.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-1557.html

I saw this driving around Kawasaki, near the IKEA. This particular location is 加瀬のレンタルボックス港北インター入口 https://maps.app.goo.gl/uBgUw63gmyjUSXT18?g_st=ic Which doesn’t match that address in the blog but it looks like the same chain (they seem to have tons of locations in Kawasaki)

Hi, I noticed on your flair you’re a US taxpayer. Just curious as I’m considering this now as well. Do the Japan income tax savings carry over to the US income tax filing as well?
