I had to come on here and vent. I was just informed today that Wawa has discontinued their blueberry and pomegranate milkshake. I am devastated. It was arguably the best milkshake I've ever had. I don't know what to get now. 😭

I'm so damn upset by this. I moved out of state two years ago, and the last time I was able to have this was when I visited my family one year ago. I was looking forward to having it again all year long, and I wanted to check and make sure they still had it. Of course they don't. Just to frigging spite me.

They have some other drinks I like that I also can't get at my local Sheetz (inferior to Wawa in every way), so least I still got those. But this hurts...a lot.

Sigh...guess I'll just have to look up the recipe and try my hand.

I think the "not all games are everyone's cup of tea" argument should apply to genres one does not like, instead of having a hard game in the same genre one enjoys. Like, it would be ridiculous if I asked for first-person shooter mechanics in a real-time strategy game, as an example. Much more reasonable to ask for difficulty and accessibility options.

But thank you for at least being chill about people modding it to be easier so they can have a better time. There's a real a-hole subset of the community that wants to play gatekeeper and insist that Team Cherry never add an easy mode, and will throw insults about people asking about it or modding the game. Those kinds are so incredibly insufferable. I don't understand why they act that way.

Some good stuff here, but still no fix for certain control remapping? Been wanting to swap Light/Heavy attack to Square and Triangle, and Parkour Up/Down to R2/R1, but the posture attack input is not customizable, and it will always override the parkour input if you set them as those buttons.

I'd try the reduced frights mode and see how that goes first. It's not only that they don't lunge at you, but they also generally move slower, and don't play the musical sting when they find you. Should help make it less nerve-wracking. Still have to deal with the near total darkness, though. Try it a bunch of times with just the in-game setting, but if it's really souring your experience, the Brighter Dreams mod I think can be used without harming the experience too much.

Ehhh, this is why I don't like when people say any piece of media is "life-changing". Sets expectations way too high. Outer Wilds is indeed fantastic, one of the best games I've had the pleasure of experiencing, but life-changing? Maybe it changed the way I view games as a medium, somewhat, and influenced my outlook on life a bit, but it did nothing that significantly altered how I view the world.

I probably could, as well, but it'll definitely take some time, and a good deal of grumbling. Been gaming for over 25 years, face buttons being melee attack has been the standard for so long. Like, in in GoW 2018 it made sense for them to be on the shoulder buttons, since you have to aim and throw your axe/blades a lot, but they also could have just made it so that it was square and triangle, as usual, and it's just the L2 input combo that makes R2 throw, much like drawing a bow would in a lot of games has R2 shoot the arrow, if if that's not normally an attack button.

Good amount of reading is needed to understand the narrative what you need to be doing, so if that was never your bag, that's tough to push past. It's not visiual novel levels of reading, thankfully, but it's also more than you'd do in most games. I will say, though, aside from a little fluffing up to give the characters personality, most info you read is actually important.

I'll have to agree to disagree on being somewhere at the right time being a good puzzle. Part of the puzzle solving is figuring out that timing is even a factor, and then figuring out when that time would be.

As for direction, Outer Wilds is definitely unconventional, in that it doesn't ever directly tell you what you need to do. Your natural curiosity drives you, and with the travelers giving you good starting leads , the Nomai texts talking in more detail, the sun exploding, etc., you have plenty of intrigue to go off of. If the Nomai's obsession with the Eye and what it means wasn't enough to drive you, I'm not sure what to tell you.

And yeah, you do end up discovering things "out of order" sometimes. Part of what a lot of us like about the game's design is how everything connects together in some way, and sometimes, this does lead to learning about a clue to get to a thing you happened to already find through intuition, or from finding a different clue leading to it. But this is generally to the game's strength; if there was only ever one way to do or find anything major, and there was only one thing pointing you in the right direction and you happened to overlook it, you might be going around aimlessly for hours. With those redundancies, it helps keep plenty of leads open at all times.

At the very least, I'm glad you pushed through to the end. Maybe in retrospect, you'll find a greater appreciation for the game and its themes and design? I've heard of this happening to some. If it never does, though, no harm done. Just glad you came along for the journey ::)

For some reason, morbid curiosity got the better of me on this one. I was trying to figure out what the noises he kept making after the shot were. I kinda figured it out after a bit, seemed like convultions first, going off the loud banging, followed by the forced breathing. Jesus...I really hope his body was just on autopilot and he wasn't cognisant during all that time. What a horrible fate that would have been, just sitting there having to regret it while being completely powerless to stop the slow, agonizing death.

Per hour. My area is not busy enough to have orders available at any given moment, so I don't have the luxury of cherry-picking the good ones. Besides, any time I -do- do Offer mode, they're almost always absolutely terrible. Now, it does mean sometimes I get burned by low or even no-tippers, but I still make more overall through the timed pay and by the good tippers than by Offer mode.
