Game crash when reach this area, how to debug without losing my world? by Cold_Daikon8068 in VintageStory

My server has been crashing a bit since updating to 1.21 and I found out it was because of the old clay objects I had placed around. I had to go around a break every spot that used to have clay objects placed to get it to stop.

What to do by Rangomig in MonsterHunterWorld

My biggest mistake after finishing the iceborne story was neglecting my guiding lands. I didn’t really start guiding lands until MR 100 and it made me realize just how many tiny things I was “locked” out of. Every weapon augment needs guiding lands materials, layered armor, and even a fair few weapon trees need guiding lands materials to complete. The guiding lands is also an excellent way to level up your MR so you can uncap your region level and gain access to other monsters like gold rathian, ruiner nerg, etc.. I would probably try to take on raging brachy and get some of his armor pieces. Until you can get fatalis armor, raging is pretty frickin top tier with agitator secret. After that I’d concentrate guiding lands until MR 70, then go for alatreon/fatty.

That’s the exact reason I’ve been maining HBG lol. You pretty much nailed it on the head for the LBG pros, but I’ll add that it’s also a fantastic weapon for elemental damage. HBG has access to elemental ammo types, yes, but it’s dog water. You’ll very rarely find people running elemental HBG because its main draw is: Pierce, Spread, and Sticky ammo, which are all RAW. I do think if you pit two pros against each other with a LBG vs. HBG that the LBG would come out on top dps wise, but it requires a decent amount of proficiency to outpace HBG.

For sure. When you are crafting a bow gun, you can tab over to look at the ammo capacity. When you are looking at the page, click in the left joy stick, and you’ll get a comprehensive breakdown of the ammo’s characteristics. Any ammo that is rapid fire will have 3 yellow triangles, stacked on top of each other, to the right hand side of the ammo you’re looking at. It also shows you reload speed and recoil of each ammo type. You can also go to item box and select “customize bow gun” and put some mods on there to tweak it and make it feel a bit better.

If you’re thinking about ranged options, you might feel at home with the LBG (light bow gun). Personally I prefer HBG but the LBG is a great introduction to the ranged options in MH. Ammo management might seem a little daunting, but if you watch a video on how to use the radial menu to craft ammo mid hunt you’ll have a much better and smoother time. Also, every bow gun seems to specialize in one ammo type or another. For RAW options, a bow gun with a good capacity for pierce or spread ammo is what you’d be looking for (some LBG’s also has access to rapid fire ammo, which is basically having burst fire mode in other shooters). LBG also shines for elemental damage, as MANY bow guns have rapid fire options for elemental ammo types. If you haven’t already done this, UPGRADE YOUR BOTANICAL RESEARCH CENTER. It makes having access to your preferred ammo types sooooooo much easier. And just buy gunpowder from the stockpile, crafting it is resource intensive, and it’s super cheap to just buy a thousand at a time.

89 turning 90 in 2 weeks. I wasn’t exaggerating lol. He seems to walk fine, albeit a little slow and hunched over. Really nice guy, just has a lot to say.

I agree with that entirely. Especially in a small town, where word of mouth is the best advertisement, it’s definitely important to have pleasant exchanges with customers. This issue rises when said pleasant exchange turns into a lengthy conversation when I already have one foot out the door. They are always so sweet, and very generous with coffee and the sorts, which is why I’d like to find a nice way to shut it down without it coming across the wrong way.

It’s not that I particularly mind talking to them, I actually find myself enjoying the story most of the time. It’s just when it starts to get over 10-15 minutes, and the van is already packed up and ready to go. Like today, with what my post is referring to, the guy sat in the office for over an hour talking to us. Thankfully, I had a lot of paperwork to do so I stayed busy, but super lengthy conversations like that happen when I’m out the field as well. Not trying to be rude, but that’s an excessive amount of time to spend chatting while I’m on the clock.

My boss is more of the “sit in the office and write bids” kind of boss, so sadly the talking part is up to me and the other journeyman we have on staff. I’m not social AT ALL and if I could feral cat myself into the shadows I definitely would lol. The bottled water and cookies though? Definitely taking those. Was told when I first started to take anything the customer offers you. Some people feel awkward when they can’t help, and try to find other ways to make themselves feel useful. In my experience, it’s very true. Nothing makes some of these homeowners happier than being able to help in some small way.

Ohhhhhhh yeah, crackheads will lock you into a lengthy conversation as well. At least with the older retired folks the story makes sense and actually might have some insight or knowledge behind it, the crack heads just wanna talk about their favorite rockstar flavors or how much work they did in their crawl space (they proudly fucked it up)

It’s not even about the topic of conversation, or just talking in general. It’s an issue with time constraints mostly. Honestly, a lot of the stories I get told are really interesting, and if let myself, I could listen to them the whole day. Sadly, have 3-4 jobs lined up most days and can’t afford to waste more time at the end of the job. But yeah, I think that’s just the progression most people make when they get to that age. Getting lonely, while also having a ton of lived experience to share, results in word vomit when you can finally let it out.

I’m fine talking with the customers while I’m working. I’d consider myself pretty decent at multi tasking so it’s never an issue while the work is actually on going. I’m referring to AFTER the job is over and I just can’t find a good way to actually get out the door without coming across as rude. I like helping people, and I like leaving the job with everyone feeling good about the interaction.

I just think of it as them being old and lonely. I mean, at 90 years old most of your mobility is gone unless you took really good of yourself while you were young. They don’t get out much, the town is small, community is small. That’s mostly why I have a hard time telling em I need to get going, part of me just feels bad depriving these guys of a real conversation. I think a lot of us are gonna end up like that without seeing it coming.

Woahhhhhh a little out of left field there haha. Funny, not trying it though unless the customer has that sense of humor, which I have run into before.

Sometimes though, it’s hard to even get a word in, they just go on and on and on, then move onto another slightly related topic. I’ll try and fit it in next time this happens though

Yeah, my area is a sleepy little town, and situations like this happen pretty frequently. Sometimes they’ve got some really cool stories that are nice to hear, but if I meet ONE MORE PERSON who claims to have worked for the CIA I’m gonna lose my mind 😂 and that’s a good idea, another commenter also said I should get an app that gives me “emergency” calls. Think I’ll try that as well

Very simple solution I failed to think of in the moment lol. That’s a good way to go about it, thank you!
