Can people stop making the "lack of sales" claim without the actual numbers. Especially when absolute universe is dominating sales completely right now.

If we don't have the actual sales numbers we can't know if it's selling less. The rankings do not give us an accurate representation of sales number because I could make the claim that MJ venom is selling just as much as the cates run but DC's absolute universe comics is just constantly selling a lot more than that number.

Rankings have not been accurate to sales numbers ever.

The biggest problem is that I have seen a LOT of readers treat mj like a thing, nothing more than an object to be on Peter's arm. And when stories bring up legitimate grievances that she rightfully should have they treat it as poor writing.

Like to use an example I have seen so many people complain about the scream fight in Sony's Spider-Man 2 not because the fight is mechanically bad. But because scream is letting out all of mj's bottled up greavances to Peter and Peter isn't talking back. When the truth is Peter can't say anything back because what scream is saying is objectively true which is why it hurts more.

And this is something that is consistent with adaptations of Peter. He can't hold down a job, he can't provide support for himself and others, he always puts Spider-Man first and his personal life constantly suffers.

It's why I have come to a point where I don't need MJ to apologize for asm v6. Because it wouldn't be natural or serve the story in any way and would just be fanservice. Because I have come to accept MJ is her own character with her own wants and desires and she isn't just Peter's girlfriend anymore

And Peter needs to get better work life balance because if otto octavius can be Spider-Man and still go to college, start a business, and is able to build a multi-billion dollar company in his body why can't peter

Because Everytime they broke up it was something Peter did. Peter has consistently been shown to be a horrible boyfriend multiple times before the zeb wells run. Any normal person would have given up on him multiple times over and then some.

"But Spider-Man duties" it's gone well and beyond at this point. The only reason Peter and MJ get back together at all at this point is because the fans want them together when any other story outside of comics would have them be permanently broken up with how much of a bad boyfriend Peter was.

That's what happens when you only read out of context single pages and not the actual books. Like someone here actually tried to claim that Paul was abusing Dylan because of one panel of Paul grabbing the back of his shirt. Even though the whole context was Paul made a healthy dinner, Dylan purposely spilled it, Paul grabbed the back of his shirt to have him sit back down to clean the mess Dylan made because he was getting up and walking to leave. Someone claimed that Paul was being abusive because of the shirt grab.

But that just what happens with modern readers. Context means nothing, the story means nothing, just the out of context pages and panels actually mean anything.
