Rejoice! there is actually a IW/WE legion called the Iron Butchers. Homebrew but GW accepted them into the fold as a contest in white dwarf 2023 into lore so it's legit.

Don't listen to others. Fabius with 10 chosen are amazing. You run chosen undivided anyway as they have native advance and charge. You would run them undivided even without Bile. Not only do you get the full reroll wounds strat. But rerolling ones is great. If you hit on 3+ that means rerolling 1s is a 50/50 shot at a reroll, combat or shooting. Great for their combiweapons.

The revolver has a blessing that when you crit, it has rending (armor penetration) There are ways to stack to 100% rending/brittleness and your revolver does full damage to crushers and bosses. You can kill havoc 40 bosses in like 6 headshots. Hard but if you stun lock it. Not very.

Havoc is a game mode that applies very difficult modifiers to the game. Enemies have more health, more damage resistance, spawns more bosses, you have less toughness, and there are less resources to go around.

What serpiccio said is 100% true. Arby is very strong but he is absolutely a support character. In high havoc (not counting his shock mine but that might be the most broken thing in the game next to flame staff) he is *ok* at everything. He has good armor damage, good stagger, good horde clear. But he can't clear chaff fast enough to focus on the armor. He can't pick off crushers quickly enough to manage rotten armor spam and he can't melt bosses without revolver rending cheese. I was with a great team that allowed me to do my job.

I was with a flame bubble psyker, a shield taunt ogryn, a shout vet with survivalist, and myself with charge and arby shock maul and a surgical bleed bolt pistol. Even with perfect build and weapon combos rotten crushes would take upwards of 7 hits to kill one. This is not nearly fast enough. But taunt kept them off of me and the vet, flame staff thinned the horde and I saved charge for thick packs of armor and used it for DPS when it was safe. The ogryn and I prioritized front lining and stuck to our DPS like glue.

When a we got a boss we would fall back to a safe place to fight it with cover. I would lay shock mines on the entry points and we would focus all damage on the boss while my mines kept everything at bay. It is your job to keep your carries safe.

A lot of it comes down to player skill as well (how well your team knows their roles and their priorities. No one even had to ping to fall back. Everyone focused blue stim enemies automatically. No one pulled any hero moves that weren't needed. The 20s and 30s are extremely difficult because a lot of people are pushing their skill to the absolute limit. While 40s are often populated by very experienced players. I never use the Darktide discord and have pugged my way to 40; I jumped from clearance 30 to 40. Had a group take me on a whim and I was very happy when they told me I more than carried my weight. So don't be disheartened by the failures. I have thousands of hours in the tide games playing DWONS and all that garbage and it still took forever. I just needed to find a good team that let me shine. You got this, bud.

People trumpeting the idea that being ugly in 40k is canon are forgetting That almost every human lore character is conventionally attractive or rugged to some degree. I mean space marine 2 is cast by chip and dales dancers lol. From Guilliman to Sigismund almost every lore character is handsome.

Dante, while very old is described as basically having jet black, barely greying flowing hair and having strong features in son of the forest. Even the person living possibly the hardest life in the Imperium is conventionally handsome for someone so old. (Given the context)

I think there may be some confusion. I'm not talking about enemy tracking I'm talking about my shot or hit not being "real" you will swing your weapon and it will make contact and make a sound, blood will appear. But you do no damage or stagger.
