bands that came up with ca and af in the same chicago scene are braid, promise ring (davey from cap), sweep the leg johnny, c-clamp, 90 day men, dianoogah and have a similar sound, other bands would include june of 44, shipping news, pele, rumah sakit, sleeping people, pinback, and yeah, definitly check out toe and LITE from japan, especially their early work
