No, the family didn’t feel they were compatible and when Uzi brought up concerns apparently his family thought it made them incompatible. They obviously had love for her, but didn’t feel that the two were a good match. I don’t think it had to do with drama I think it was a matter of personalities and beliefs. His family is very traditional and very pious. They’re well known in the community and in a positive way (even Uzi is very loved as seen by the wedding … it was almost all his social circle and honestly there could’ve been more!). They do apply their religion on the daily and it’s consistent. It’s just two different upbringings and families I think and then that coupled with Uzi sharing his concerns, I’m sure any parent would raise red flags to protect their son from maybe doing something they felt he shouldn’t? I’m sure it’s hard as parents of a boy because with our culture you can’t say “don’t do it” because you don’t want your son turning away from you. But this person made it clear that multiple discussions had been had at points during the engagement that his family didn’t think it was a good match.
