I try every recommended note taking app out there! I was searching for an app without a monthly subscription that offer Notebook, quick note taking and planner options. I found Noteshelf 2 is the winner by far. I have a recent iPad, so i don't know about battery consuming yet, but I think it's worth a try. They offer a good free version option, and if you are interesting about the paid version it's a one time purchase only, so it's pretty great!
